The IC 5068 sits below the North-America and Pelican nebulae, it's a fairly large emission target with many dark dust filaments (AFAIK) about half way between the nebula and us.
Narrowband H-alpha, 3x 20min exposures.
This was the first wolf that we saw on our trip, and the first one that I have ever seen up close. I am assuming she is an alpha female because she is radio collared (I chose to remove the portion of the collar that was visible). She is running along a creek bed, probably hoping to surpise an arctic ground squirrel or a snowshoe hare. I didn't know this until we got to Denali, but apparently the wolves usually hunt for small game by themselves in the summer, rather than for big game as a pack. (Notwithstanding this, the wolves had killed three or so caribou in the park by this point in the summer, which we were told was an unsually high number for that time). The reason for their seasonal change is that wolves typically have a decisive advantage over the large game only in the winter snows. The rest of the year they mostly hunt small game for themselves, unless they can identify some especially vulnerable prey. Wolf, Denali National Park, Alaska.

I have made a few large scale ships based on the ship from 6988 Alpha Centauri Outpost. This one stays truest to its namesake. Detachable cockpit, you know. I gave this ship a lot of fun functions. I had a lot of fun doing so.

A stack of 20 H-alpha images of the sun taken with a PST (40mm aperture) with two etalons in series, using a Sony DSC F-717 in 'night-shot' mode.
The Sun is quite active at the moment. The left-hand version has the prominences enhanced.
