2023 saw the return of the Pokémon Jet to Japan's largest airline, All Nippon Airways after a 7 year absence when their last themed jet was repainted into ANA's standard colours in 2016.
The latest round of Pokémon Jets came about in 2021 when The Pokémon Company celebrated their 25th anniversary since the release of their first game on the Nintendo GameBoy in 1996, being Pokémon Red & Blue. As part of the celebrations, the company launched the Pokémon Air Adventures which sees airlines partnering with the company, "By bringing you closer to other people and other regions, Pokémon Air Adventures will show you the joy of travel."
All Nippon Airways joined the Pokémon Air Adventures squad in 2023, unveiling their Pikachu Jet on a Boeing 787-9 in June 2023, with the Generation III Dragon/Flying Legendary Type Pokémon, Rayquaza being the main template of the design.
The second design was unveiled a month after ANA's Pikachu Jet entered service, with the Eevee Jet announced to be adorned on one of their Boeing 777-300ERs, this would be the first time Eevee and its multitude of Eev-oultions would be featured as the main basis of the Pokémon Jet.
JA784A, now the oldest Boeing 777-300ER operating for All Nippon Airways was chosen to feature the new livery and was repainted in late-August 2023, entering service in late-September 2023. The port and starboard sides feature different Eevee's and their subsequent evolutions; the port side consists of Eevee, Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Espeon and Umbreon, whilst the starboard side consists of Pikachu (being the official mascot of The Pokémon Company), Eevee, Sylveon, Leafeon and Glaceon.
Currently, All Nippon Airways operates 30 Boeing 777s, which includes 2 Boeing 777-200s, 8 Boeing 777-200ERs, 5 Boeing 777-300s, 13 Boeing 777-300ERs and 2 Boeing 777Fs. All Nippon Airways have 2 Boeing 777-8Fs and 18 Boeing 777-9s on-order.
Juliet Alpha Seven Eight Four Alpha is one of 13 Boeing 777-300ERs operated by All Nippon Airways, delivered new to the carrier on 30th December 2009 and she is powered by 2 General Electric GE90-115B engines. She has carried Eevee Jet colours since August 2023.
Boeing 777-381/ER JA784A taxis towards Runway 16L at Tokyo-Haneda (HND) on NH211 to London Heathrow (LHR).
