=============================
The largest of the Japanese carriers, All Nippon Airways has for years expanded at a considerable pace in comparison to their competing flag-carrier, Japan Airlines. However, it seems ANA plans for expansion with Europe and their cargo subsidiary look set to see some form of growth.
Whilst ANA has a bigger market share in Europe in comparison to Japan Airlines, it is the weakest of the Japanese carriers operating into London Heathrow with only a single daily flight, compared to both Japan Airlines and British Airways (who are joint-venture partners) who operates 4 daily flights between them from London Heathrow to Tokyo (British Airways offers a single daily flight to Tokyo-Narita, the rest are to Tokyo-Haneda).
Even so, ANA still uses their low-density and premium-heavy Boeing 777-300ERs on NH211/212, however ANA have been rumoured to be seeking an additional slot pair to take the number of flights to twice-daily, in similar vein to Japan Airlines who introduced a second daily flight late last year.
Much of ANA's expansion will be down to their backlog of Boeing 777s they have on-order, alongside their Boeing 787 fleet. Whilst the carrier still have a selection of Boeing 777-300ERs remaining on-order, they also have the next-generation Boeing 777X also on-order. More recently, ANA have made plans to introduce 2 Boeing 777Fs into their fleet after a strategic agreement was agreed with Nippon Cargo Airlines.
Currently, All Nippon Airways operates 50 Boeing 777s, which includes 9 Boeing 777-200s, 12 Boeing 777-200ERs, 7 Boeing 777-300s and 22 Boeing 777-300ERs. ANA have 6 Boeing 777-300ERs, 2 Boeing 777Fs and 20 Boeing 777-9s on-order.
Juliet Alpha Seven Eight Five Alpha is one of 22 Boeing 777-300ERs in service with ANA, delivered new to the carrier in March 2010 and she is powered by 2 General Electric GE90-115B engines.
