The Moon aligned with Venus and Mercury after sunset, March 18, 2018. Venus is the brighter planet in the center, Mercury to the upper right. The moon is about 34 hours past new, a very thin crescent.

So scanning these pictures really kills the quality. Especially this one. The original looked much better.
Skipping over to the back actionway now, we see somewhat of an actionway view… although it seems like I accidentally framed half of it within the men’s department instead :P Not sure my reasoning behind that, but I don’t doubt I had one, haha! To get here we’ve passed the fitting rooms, which were in the back left corner.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
180 degrees panorama of the alignment of the planets at my preferred Deep Sky Object imaging site (SDAA site, Tierra del Sol). Photos taken 5:40am on Fev 7th, 2016. Just missed Mercury (below my visible horizon at the time).

Another angle of the Temple of the Great Jaguar taken on our excursion into the Guatemalan jungle a few weeks back. When we first walked into the main plaza that has been excavated the ominous rain clouds parted and the brilliant sunshine came through for a few fleeting moments. I might never see this amazing place again, but I felt so fortunate that the weather gave me such a perfect backdrop, even if only for a few minutes.
When I took this photo, I noticed the young woman on the right and the alignment of the 3 subjects perpendicular to the river. On closer inspection, I thought that this alignment was all the more interesting in that it could perhaps correspond, from youngest to oldest, to this woman's family circle: potentially, her youngest son, then the teenager, and finally her husband. This hypothetical link could explain the benevolent gaze that the 'mother' perhaps seems to be casting on them. The magic of street photography is that it will always retain its mystery, and at the same time open the door to all sorts of possible interpretations.
In May 1990 I was fortunate enough to participate in an official walk along the section of the City and South London Railway that was abandoned in 1900. This ran from south of London Bridge station, under the Thames to King William Street terminus on the north bank of the Thames. It only had a working life of 10 years before a northern extension made a new alignment necessary.
This is the section under the Thames - it got very wet indeed in the middle! They are stalagtites you can see. Beyond here the King William Street station survived partially intact. It has survived two generations of new buildings built on top of it and functioned as an air-raid shelter in the war. This tunnel is smaller than modern tube tunnels and other parts of the C&SL had to be enlarged in the 20's.
Sitting and watching as the sun climbs out of the Gulf of Mexico makes for a most excellent morning.
In Los Angeles, I also spent a day at the revamped Griffith Observatory. It is a very cool restoration. I highly recommend it.
Red Hot Pokers - Kniphofia Uvaria - growing wild on Tresco a small but very beautiful Isle off of The Scilly Isles UK. Compositionally there should be three or five for balance but nature gave me four!!
I stayed up all night last Friday night to try and capture the planet alignment. We chose our location near the windmills due to its perfect SE view and located up on the bluff above the Columbia gave us a nearly 180 degree view. While I could see Saturn up out of frame in the right hand corner my 24mm lens was not near wide enough to take it all in. We also could not see Mercury in the lower left hand corner due to too much light from the moon and the sun.
3799 (ET44C4 (Tier 4)), 967 (C44-9W), 7578 (ES44DC), 730 (Dash 9-44CW) lead a lengthy eastbound BNSF mixed train. 6558 (ES44C4), 8220 (ES44C4 (GE)) are also providing distributed power at the rear.
The train is seen here traversing the deep cuttings of the straighter 2011 alignment. The winding 1868 alignment is out of sight to the left.

The view across the goods yard at Maudland located alongside the former Preston to Longridge branch on June 2nd 1978. Preston Power Box is straight ahead with its original flat roof still in place. With the then closed Preston Power Station on the North side of the River Ribble, and its conveyor bridge dominating the background, Class 47 47429 heads towards Preston station with a Blackpool North to London Euston service whilst 85040 was stabled in Croft Street Sidings. In the immediate foreground is a VIX ferry van that was being loaded in the rather empty looking yard. The goods shed on the right is on the alignment of the former flat crossing that once existed here when there was a direct connection from the Longridge line on to the Preston to Wyre route, crossing over the Preston to Lancaster line. The Fleetwood, Preston & West Riding Junction Railway had been promoted to connect the Fylde coast to West Yorkshire via an extended Longridge Branch, and other than some earth works East of Longridge at Hurst Green, and the line from Deepdale Junction to Maudland, the scheme to create another Trans-Pennine route came to nothing.
Explored HP# 420 on 25/10/12 - Thanks very much!!
Looking back down the Tyne, still from the Newcastle side, here the bridges all line up to create a mass of light..

I had the pleasure of viewing the planetary alignment this week shortly after the sun set into Lake Michigan. In this photo I captured the Moon, three planets, and a few deep sky attractions using a wide angle 10mm lens . The reflection of Venus in the lake is also prominent.

Nearly full moon rising over Ahuriri, Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
It is always nice when a full moon coincides with a high tide, especially when you are planning to shot the (nearly ) full moon rising over the Ahuriri Estuary.
This shot was taken the evening before the night of the 'supermoon', as the semi-supermoon popped over the horizon just before the sun set in the other direction.
