A few out-takes found on the cutting room floor from last Sundays shoot.
Even though a lot of the shoot was about colour, it's great when the shots work in b/w as well.
Was supposed to be painting lloyds park with freehand and Dyelk, but it was a construction site.... another legal on its way out.
So we went to Ally Palley, after a North london tour, courtesy of Freehand we was already running late.
I had to to leave before it was finished..... joiner to follow, hopefully.

Modify again the ankles and my Queen can bend the elbows now, besides she had a royal guard too...XD
The idea of Praetorian Alien is come from the video game "Aliens vs Predator" and the research of internet. funny is it?

Mcfarlane Movie Maniacs 6 "Aliens" Alien Queen.
Very huge & strong (it really strong!!) figure with amazing sculpt and details, the bony exoskeleton is sculpted beautifully all over the figure, and one more thing, this queen figure looks very accurate to the film appearance!!
Actually the figure is not perfect because the neck is made by soft plastic that means it will decay by time running out and most disappointed thing is the queen cant open the mouth.....is that very difficult to make a joint to the mouth?? to such a huge figure?????????
This is my recent custom figure work, i got the queen figure only with very low price from second-hand store, the base stand of queen and the victim scene are not included. So, my poor queen can't stand without the stand and the very hard customization of queen is getting start...
After a lot of research and study the structure of the figure, i find that the alien queen has metal wires RUNNING THROUGH HER LEGS and extend almost 7mm to her feet, ( that means i cant add the knee joint to the figure) it supposed to plug in to the base but now is the problem to my queen's standing so i need to cut it off...
Besides, i adjusted and re-sculpted the ankles with putty, that's very lucky that the hip joints are very tight so the heavy figure can stand without the base but still very hard to balance the upper body's weight, i guess add some heavy stuff inside the tail and the hip area should be better.... overall it was very very hard work i never did before.
The next step is add the ball joint to her elbows and modify the left hand to open claw.
If i find another good footage i might be make the open mouth/ jaw with inner claw to the queen but i am not sure i can do it well~~~XD
I am a huge toy geek and probably have more toys than a forty year old should have so I was pretty excited for this weeks challenge. Of course with so many toys it was difficult to decide what exactly to shoot. I ended up going with the Alien Queen from Aliens, which makes that two weeks in a row with a H.R. Giger theme.
For this weeks Macro Monday
Sculpt update on the Alien Queen - ALIENS - 1:18 scale.
Sculpted using Aves FIXIT Sculpt from Aves Studio.
I'm close to completing the mouth of the Alien Queen - finished sculpting the lower gum line around the teeth of the lower jaw. Also started to flesh out the lower jaw a bit but have much more detailing to add before it's considered complete.
Both the top and lower set of teeth have been sculpted separate and will be cast eventually using a semi-clear resin..or crystal clear, and painted afterward.
This coming week I want to complete the teeth and lower jaw and set up the components to the head for molding and casting. From there we go to the neck as well as the Queen's inner jaw.

Very cool lady but pretty small size and cant stand without the base stand because the heavy upper body.

The first non-robot to be built by Peter Kokis of Brooklyn RobotWorks, Brooklyn Alien is made from ordinary items purchased from local stores, including plungers, knife sharpeners, wine glass drain mats, bottlecaps, and plastic tubing. He took 450 hours to build and weighs 122 lbs. This is an exoskeletal costume, and nothing else like him exists anywhere.
