"Macro Mondays" "Queen"

(Figurine of Alien Queen /face is half a credit card)

The "Alien" (also referred to as "Xenomorph XX121") is a fictional endoparasitoid extraterrestrial species that is the eponymous antagonist of the Alien film series. The queen was designed by Cameron in collaboration with special effects artist Stan Winston, based upon an initial painting Cameron had done at the start of the project. In the years since the release of Alien, the Alien has become one of the world's most recognized movie monsters and a pop-cultural icon. In 2003, the Alien was voted as the 14th most memorable screen villain by the American Film Institute.

Hey guys! I wanted to also just let you all know that this beautiful makeup, specifically the eyes and eyeshadow, were made by the amazing, Keiko .

The dress I'm wearing was made by the incredibly talented, Fidelio .

I did end up photoshopping it to look like a gown, as well as, the shoulders a bit, because I had a specific silhouette in mind, but the original dress exists and its stunning!

30 years ago today, Aliens, one of my favorite films of all time was released.

And 30 days ago, Tim Lydy, one of my favorite builders of all time, 'upgraded' my Olymous Mons display at Brickworld Chicago with his incredible Alien Queen, Xenomorph, chest burster, egg and facehugger.

I don't know if he intended to fit so well into the display, or if I subconciously made a very aliens style room ... but it certainly fit.

Definitely one of the coolest things at BW :)

Thanks Tim <3

After a short sharp arctic freeze, I stumbled on the remains of a plastic alien queen, lying in a thawing water tomb. Her eyes were hollow, but she grinned at me in a knowing sort of way :-)

In space, no one can hear Drones scream....

Aliens: Alien Warrior (Attack), Alien Queen, & Alien 3 Runner

“Queen of Blood” is a science fiction B-movie classic crafted by Director Curtis Harrington using footage from two Soviet films (“Mechte Navstrechu” and “Nebo Zovyot”) which he interspersed with new footage starring Basil Rathbone, John Saxon, Dennis Hopper and Judi Meredith. It’s the year 1990 and scientists receive a distress call from an alien ship that has crash landed on Mars. Dr. Farraday (Rathbone) sends teams of astronauts, including Allan Brenner (Saxon), Paul Grant (Hopper), and Laura James (Meredith) on rescue missions. They discover just one alien survivor, a green-skinned female who is brought aboard their ship. It isn’t long before a crew member is attacked and drained of blood. The green Queen (Florence Marty) is a bloodsucker. That is the only way she can get nourishment. The crew races home before they run out of plasma and they too end up on her menu. Happy Halloween!

Alien Queen vs City Hunter, battle in deep inside Alien's hive.

The title is a line from a short dio script I penned last year, concerning the fate of Tonto's horse, who Tonto curtly reports was "eaten". The Lone Ranger says, "When did you run afoul of a bear?" to which Tonto replies, "No bear, Kemosabe."

All photos and textures are my own.
