Since my first attempt at construct a space invader from Post-It notes, I have found enough notes that I can now have a single colour space invader, in both positions But the alien had to have white feet, and the space ship had to be stripy!
I'm always amazed at the shape and colors of flowers. This one (Heliconia) looks as if it was on the set of the movie alien.

I thought it would be great, if somehow, it was possible to have an Alien as a pet. Basically because I felt I would look cool dressed up sexy, strutting about with an Alien on a chain. Also, no one would ever attack you if they knew you had one. How to stop it accidently covering its loving owner in acid might be the downfall to this master plan. Also the fact that they dont exist. Nevertheless, my friend Leanne made me this substitute. :D
Taken in lower Manhattan in February of 2008. I'm sure that this is the how some people and artists conceive of many Aliens.
Kam the Alien may very well like something like this. I don't know because I have seen her and other Aliens on her ship disguised as human beings. I have never seen what they really look like.
Other than what they look like, I'm wondering why, if they have contact with humans, they are not spreading disease among us? Maybe they have purifiucation chambers where all the germs are neutralized. There is so much I don't know about them.
What I do know is that Kam likes sex and she likes physical thrills. In fact that is why she is visiting earth. All of this is fun for her. It makes me think that whatever they are they are not quite physical beings in the way we are. Maybe they are forms of physical energy? I'm not smart enough to figure it all out.

Loadlifter from the film Alien.
A motor in the torso rotates the forks and opens/closes them. The drivetrain goes through the arms and every joint while these are still movable. Differentials in the underarms destinguish between rotation and opening/closing the hand once it comes in contact with a payload.
The lifter is fully articulated.
The plates where the operator places his feet always stay level to the ground, regardless of the angle of the leg just as the original.
grayisch/yellow pieces come from z-fight during rendering. Some yellow parts have been replaced by light blueish gray parts to give it more worn appearence. (I just missed to blend them out before the render.)
The legs were difficult to construct to hold the weight of the model while keeping friction in the foot.
The feet rotate in x and y direction to make good contact with the floor. The ankle axis are built by round 2x2 plates in 4x4 round plates with a 2x2 hole. Since these dont provide friction, the construction inside has to. otherwise the lifter would just fall over.
Ok, it's not _really_ an alien satellite. This is the projector used in the planetarium at the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa, FL. The platform holding the device can move up and down, while the contraption itself can spin in any direction to project a precise map of stars, planets, and other images onto the dome ceiling.
