In Preston, which is my home town, there lived, at the end of the 19th Century, and into the early years of the 20th Century, an artist called Beattie who drew almost everything that he saw.

He was held in very low esteem during his lifetime, but without him our knowledge of the period would be much diminished.

Inspired by Beattie I have taken many pictures in the "Candid Camera" style showing "life as it is really lived," but have hesitated from publishing some of them for fear of offense.

The time for such reservations is past as the practise of photography is being threatened.

There are three different dining and drinking atmospheres at Drop KL; the main Zen-inspired casual dining room with private booths and high tables, a luxe black marble bar and a tropical alfresco area with views over the Royal Selangor Golf Club and KLCC Tower. An expansive yet-to-be-revealed rooftop bar will launch later in the year as part of Drop KL’s phase two. The ambiance has been created by renowned architect and interior designer Tracey Stoute who worked under the late Zaha Hadid and Sir Norman Foster before setting up his own practice, the award-winning Hong Kong firm EightSixThree. The 3,000 sq.ft. Drop KL marks a first in Malaysia for the firm after laying down plans for Drop Hong Kong, Apple, BMW, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier and Zegna among other projects.

more for a laugh going all "something old something new" 2011 Lumix GF3 compact body MFT with new "pro level" Leica 15mm f1.7 lens... a ridiculous combination one of my newest lenses with one of my first MFT cameras from back in the day (bought when 2 years old for the silly sum of $45 WITH the 14mm pancake... from an actual respected camera shop no less no ebay snipe or dodgy hockshop)

But I actually like this combo - the 14 mm pancake is a good, very good, lens and tiny but the 15mm is just in another league and even if it is about two and a half times larger I can still fit it in a jacket pocket or the outside pocket of my camera bag
