This is Alberta; prairie country. This time of year Mother Barns are looking to fill themselves and their small ones with summer crops. When in Barn country one should always do their best to not put themselves between the Mother Barn and her little ones.
I was sure that this particular Mother Barn had not seen me.
I was downwind from the Barn and I was ensuring that I did not make any sudden noise or movement. I took some photos of the scene and backed up quietly. But, as an added precaution I took out my Barn Spray and was ready to use same.
Take care and stay safe 😉

According to the National Park Service in the States, the wood bison is heavier than the plains bison, with large males weighing over 2,000 lbs., making it the largest terrestrial animal in North America. The highest point of the wood bison is well ahead of its front legs, while the plains bison's highest point is directly above the front legs. Wood bison also have larger horn cores, darker and woollier pelages, longer tails, and less hair in their beards.
