Experimenting again I used my Nikon d500 with an AIS nikkor 55mm micro lens at f/4 a 3 second exposure time an old londa flash (which was triggered by hand hence the long exposure time) and a a black dvd case to direct the flash. The flash was triggered parallel to the sensor line to completely black out any detail on the background (front of my guitar amp). There was some editing as you can tell I changed the white temperature and tint. That's all folks comments and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Having stood here many times (mostly in the rain / hale / sleet) I did enjoy taking a picture of the opposite direction for a change. I do think the look on the faces of some people showed they probably realised what I was doing.
