The Hotpoint Supermatic washtub holds 6lbs of washing and is made of cast metal coated with vitreous enamel, the heater is 2.2Kw and can be used to boil when required. the agitator drive block is a small tripod in the base to which the "SpiraClean" agitator screws to, the sump has a red plastic screen to trap larger items such as buttons etc.
The street sign at Davitt Place, Swinford, looking down towards the 'Home of Sport' Public Bench. The street is named after Michael Davitt, the son of a peasant farmer who was born nearby. Davitt joined the Fenian's, a secret militant nationalist organisation at a young age, but later became a constitutional Irish nationalist, agrarian agitator, social campaigner, labour leader, Home Rule politician and member of Parliament.
Davitt hated Landlordism and founded the Irish National Land League which undertook a campaign of ostracism against landlords, most famously Captain Boycott. The concerted action taken against him meant that Boycott was unable to hire anyone to harvest the crops in his charge. Eventually 50 Orangemen from Cavan and Monaghan volunteered to do the work. They were escorted to and from Claremorris by one thousand policemen and soldiers, despite the fact that the local Land League leaders had said that there would be no violence from them, and in fact no violence materialized. This protection ended up costing far more than the harvest was worth. After the harvest, the "boycott" was successfully continued. Within weeks Boycott's name was everywhere. It was used by The Times in November 1880 as a term for organized isolation and is still used today. Mahatma Ghandhi claimed his campaigns of civil disobedience were strongly influenced by the tactics of Irish Landland League and Michael Davitt.

Former RMC Pacific Materials (California) truck, still in their colours, they just removed the RMC logos.
This truck operated for Cemex in California after the RMC acquisition until late 2006 when it was sold and went down to Panama. It came here with the pusher axle on the back and it was removed at some point between September and December of 2008.

As you can see, it worked perfectly and pumped a far greater volume than we expected.
A Slurry Agitator is normally used to keep the slurry ( Cowshit) as near as possible to a liquid state so that it can be sucked up into a Slurry Spreader before being spread on the land as fertilizer.

The Well at the World's End.
William Morris, the 19th century polymath: Graphic artist, poet, successful businessman and political agitator, though best known these days for his dysfunctional marriage to Jane Burden, also, near the end of his life, pretty much founded the genre of fantasy novels set in a pseudo-medieval landscape.
'The Well at the World's End' is the longest and best known of these, though probably little read these days.
The well in question is in a location strikingly similar to the site of St Mary's Well, situated down a perilous cliff, right at the tip of the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales.
I went on my own quest for it on the afternoon of my last day of camping not too far away.
Like the version in the novel, this one is hard to find, with the 1:25,000 OS map not being of any help, as it does not show an exact location for it.
My walk down the stream valley from the grassy car parking space led me down to almost sea level, with excellent views of Bardsey Island, the ultimate destination for thousands of pilgrims, and to a dramatic rocky inlet, but no freshwater well.
A bit of research when I got back home shows that it is actually further around the rocks on the right, possibly where the green patches are, half way up the RH side of this photo, just above sea level.
It looks as if any visit needs to be done at low tide.
Any advice on whether one has to traverse around these rocks, or is there a route down for the cliff top? It appears that the well is at OS grid reference SH 1392,2518

Our Miele vacuum cleaner stopped working---it was impossible to it on. I took it apart, hoping to fix it. My efforts were in vain, so I re-assembled it and took it to a store for repairs. Ironically, the fault was not in the vacuum cleaner body, but in the carpeting head (not pictured). The agitator motor (which loosens dirt in carpeting) had failed. It cost about $100 to replace the agitator. Cleanliness can be expensive. This was the only time in my life that I arranged the components of a vacuum cleaner to make a pleasing picture.

This villa was built in the 18th century on one of the most beautiful places on earth with a killer view! Only this view will add a million dollars to the price of these grounds. It was built by a wealthy baron who built it as his summer house. When the baron left, rumours say that the villa was owned by anarchists, Utopians and agitators. At one time even they left and currently the place is awaiting to be bought. Probably for some several millions…

After a light exterior cleanup I decided to snap a shot of the washer's control panel. This is a MOL (middle of the line) model and is a 2-speed unit with 3 wash temperatures, 4 water levels and 3 separate fabric cycles. Kuindzhi’s style is exemplified here by the minimalist composition and dramatic light, color, and clouds. The site has been identified as the river called the Dnipro in Ukranian (Russian, Dniepr; Belarusian, Dnyapro), which runs south through the three countries to the Black Sea. The artist was born along the coast in Mariupol when the Ukrainian city was part of the Russian Empire. Kuindzhi, who was descended from Pontic Greeks from Crimea, spoke Greek, Crimean Tatar, Russian, and Ukrainian, a skill that serve him well as he moved around the northern Black Sea and then to St. Petersburg. There he associated with the Peredvizhniki (sometimes translated as the Wanderers), a pioneering exhibition group, and was later an influential teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts.
In March, 2022, the Kuindzhi Art Museum in Mariupol, Ukraine, was destroyed in a Russian air strike

Arkhip Kuindzhi is considered one of the most talented Russian landscape painters of his generation. Born in Ukraine, he was associated during the second half of the 1870s with a group of Russian Realist painters known as the Wanderers. In the 1890s, he was hired to teach landscape painting at the Academy of Fine Arts but was later dismissed for sympathizing with student agitators. He ultimately founded his own painting society.
The Late major painting is typical of Kuindzhi, who is best known for his large, nearly empty landscapes. The scene shows a sunset over the banks of the Dnieper, a great river that originates west of Moscow and runs far south into the Black Sea. The dark shapes in the foreground represent a cluster of thatched-roof huts, typical of the region.

Terror-Hysterie
Das Rathaus abriegeln, die Wiesn: Bei der Wiesn bin ich für schließen, und das Rathaus - vielleicht auch bald, wenn es so unbrauchbar wird, wie es sich grad zeigt.
Terror ist ein Mittel der Staaten gegen andere und die eigenen Bürger.
Die CSU rüstet auf, Polizei und Militär gegen die Bürger, die unruhig werden könnten, nach EU-Vorgaben ... die sie selbst mit hoch getrieben haben. Jene EU-Verfassung, zu der wir nie gefragt wurden ... und sie vermischen ein paar Übergriffe und den rechtsradikalen Mörder in München mit islamischer Bedrohung, wollen nur Christen aufnehmen, als wären sie selbst weniger mörderisch,
... und damit verletzen sie die Menschenrechte, wie sie mit dem Schweigen zu Atomwaffen im Land die Rechte brechen:
Brücken-Leute
Wir kennen alle jene jammernden und schimpfenden Zeitgenossen, die alle Stimmungen vermiesen. Immer recht haben und alles so wie früher wieder haben wollen. Das gibt es nicht mehr: Früher war Krieg und Patriarchat, Kirchenherrschaft und Prügeln in der Schule, Adels-Ausbeutung, Militarismus und Monarchie, Aberglauben und Schicksalsglaube. Das brauchen wir nicht noch mal.
Brücken-Menschen einsammeln und die Brücken besprechen:
Mit Brücken-Leuten meine ich solche, die schon in mehreren Bewegungen unterwegs sind, ohne sich zu verzetteln, und einen Austausch dazu zu gestalten.
Das Weltsozialforum hat ja mit dem grundlegenden Austausch der regionalen Sozialforen so eine Struktur des Berichtens aufgebaut, aber in Deutschland waren meines Wissens nach alle Strukturen von Linken Agitatoren oder von beruflichen Sozialverbänden besetzt und somit ziemlich tot, einzig über attac war bei uns von den internationalen Bewegungen zu hören.
Die Form der Assemblea, das freie Sprechen, der berichtende Erfahrungsaustausch ist hierzulande noch nicht erlernt, dafür braucht es wahrscheinlich eine neue Bewegung, wie sie von den jungen SpanierInnen hier einmal begonnen hatte … Brücken-Leute, die wir brauchen!
Angeregt durch den Artikel
"Die machtlose Macht" von Jairo Gomez in neue-debatte.com
erinnerte ich mich an den wunderbaren Abend mit Chico Whitaker (wikipedia) im EineWeltHaus München, bei dem er, allerdings nach "unseren Manieren" am Podium saß und kein Sozialforum vorstellte, sondern über deren Gründung in Brasilien und die weltweite Verbreitung sprach und geduldig Fragen beantwortete.
Den Charme und die Kraft einer solchen Runde kann nur nachvollziehen, wer einmal erlebt hat, welche Hoffnung eine gute Vorstellungsrunde (regelmäßig alle paar Monate bei Treffen der "Münchner Machbarn - Gelebte Nachhaltigkeit" zu erleben).
Im Nord-Süd-Forum
berichten sich alle zwei Monate die anwesenden aus gut 60 Mitgliedern und Vereinen von ihren Aktivitäten und laden gegenseitig zur Teilnahme an Kampagnen und Veranstaltungen ein. Eine entsprechende Arbeitsweise kenne ich bisher in politischen Gruppen in München nirgends, aber vielleicht bekomme ich ja einen Hinweis unten in den Kommentaren, die Treffen des Nord-Süd-Forum sind für Gäste offen: Brücken-Leute willkommen!

Die Reaktionen auf die Kampagne des NordSüdForum München für einen dezentralen Münchner Tag der Menschenrechte sind oft recht ungläubig:
Was meinst du, damit zu erreichen? Die Menschenrechte gelten in der Bevölkerung als schöne Idee ohne Rechtswirkung, als das allgemeine Feiertags-Reden der PolitikerInnen, nicht als umsetzbares Recht.
Sie werden auch in Bayern alltäglich gebrochen: Obergrenzen scheinen selbst schon verhungernde Politiker vor Flüchtlingen zu retten, das Recht auf Leben, auf Nahrung und Unterkunft wird beliebig rumgehandelt.
"Wir wollen am internationalen Tag der Menschenrechte (Samstag, 10. Dezember) in der Münchner Stadtgesellschaft auf die wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und kulturellen Menschenrechte aufmerksam machen. Dazu planen wir einen dezentralen Aktionstag, zu dem jede Gruppe, die sich für Menschenrechte einsetzt, etwas beitragen kann. An dem Tag soll deutlich werden: Münchens Zivilgesellschaft setzt sich aktiv für Menschenrechte, Integration, Toleranz, Offenheit und Solidarität ein.

Fremdbestimmung in Parteien und Verbänden
Die jeweiligen Mitglieder und Mitarbeitenden merken es meist gar nicht, was sie ausstrahlen, indirekt aussprechen: Wenn du (noch) nicht Gewerkschafts- / Linken- / Verbandsmitglied bist, hast du natürlich keine Ahnung ... aber wir würden dich dann mitreden lassen, bis dahin spricht einE besonders wichtigE ReferentIn ... und du darfst am Ende Fragen stellen, aber nicht zu lange ...
Kriegs-Beteiligung
wird von allen staatlich geförderten Einrichtungen nicht mehr in Frage gestellt, und die meisten städtisch geförderten V Einrichtungen würden so gefährliche Fragen wie die NATO-Mitgliedschaft, die Atom-Bewaffnung in Deutschland und die Waffenlieferungen unserer Export-Weltmeisterei nicht in Frage stellen.
Profitsucht
wird schnell durch "muss doch auch leben" kaschiert: Der Sinn der Arbeit in manchen Berufen ausgespart, als hätten wir ewig zu leben ... und keine anderen Chancen, wie in Genossenschaften, in Gemeinschaften und neuen Projekten ...
Ausbeutung und Ausgrenzung
sind in unserer Veröffentlichungs-Kultur als "Linke Chiffren" markiert und vermieden, entsprechend lässt sich nur eine sanftere Aussprache wie in "ausbeuterische Kinderarbeit" öffentlich wiederholen: Immerhin hat nun der Bayrische Landtag für die Friedhofs-Satzungen ermöglicht, dass eine Gemeinde entscheiden kann, dass keine Grabsteine aus ausbeuterischer Kinderarbeit zugelassen werden müssen: Jahrelange Vorarbeit und ein Gerichtsentscheid waren dazu nötig.
Raubtierkapitalismus
braucht immer neue Investitionen, denn all die Versicherungen wollen von Renditen leben, und verdammt viele Versicherungen sollen uns das Kapital ins Alter retten ... mit internationaler Investition, die vor Ort auch nicht vor Mord an indigener Bevölkerung und lokalen Umweltschützern zurück schreckt. Brücken-Leute können international denken.

Frevel heißt die neue Anarchistische Bibliothek in München, mit Programm und regelmäßigen Öffnungszeiten, und einem schönen Bestand, für Nachmittage und Abend beim Tee zu schmökern ... Dienstag 17 – 21 Uhr und Samstag 15 – 19 Uhr. Die Bibliothek befindet sich im Hinterhof der Zenettistr. 27 in 80337 München, mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln fahrt ihr entweder zur Poccistraße (U3 & U6) zum Kapuzinerplatz (Bus 58) oder zur Zenettistraße (Bus 62). Keine stille Bibliothek, auch ein möglicher Treffpunkt für Brücken-Leute.

Ziele der Globalen Bildungsarbeit von Commit eV sind, den Bildungshorizont zu erweitern, Menschen zu ermutigen den eigenen Lebensstil zu überdenken und Bewusstsein für komplexe Zusammenhänge von lokalen und globalen Gegebenheiten zu schaffen. Dazu hat die Arbeitsgruppe Globales Lernen verschiedene Konzepte entwickelt, die an alle Schultypen und Jahrgangsstufen angepasst werden können. Die Konzepte sind interaktiv aufgebaut und beschäftigen sich mit Themen wie „Afrika in den Medien“, Kinderalltag in Afrika“, „HIV in Deutschland und Uganda.“

ist wie Camping, aber mit vielen Freunden und Voll-Versorgung: Bei meinem letzten Camp kochten eine tschechische und eine schweizerische Volksküche um die Wette, und drei ausgesuchte vegetarische Mahlzeiten am Tag mit Möglichkeiten für diverse Sonderwünsche sind eine Freude!
Der Badeteich erfrischte, die Arbeitsgruppen entstehen oft im Gespräch an der Anschlag-Tafel, manchmal beim Essen, oder aus einer gerade erlebten Runde, einem Referat oder Konzert, oder in der reichhaltigen freien Bibliothek. acamp2016.org war die Einladung und hat vielleicht bald ein paar Materialien, meine Donau-Reise
