A tranquil Arun this week reveals much peak-level debris from storm activity waterside at Ford.
In sight of the South Downs a resplendent Cl59/0 59005 labours 6068 Westbury-Crawley loaded aggregates over the crossing about an hour late as a result of track trespass around nearly Hilsea.
There is much appeal for less close-in studies of the Coastway at Ford to include Ship & Anchor Marina although the distant South Downs panorama will inevitably be 'lost behind the train'.

As the skies began to defog, DB Cargo UK Class 66 diesel locomotive 66172 passes by West Ealing working 6xxx 10:57 Hayes & H'ton Tarmac Sdgs to Acton T.C. 23/02/19
60046 'William Wilberforce' is seen on the approach to Hungerford with train 6Z52, the 0650 Tytherington to Quainton Railhead loaded aggregates service, run in conjunction with the HS2 route project. At this point over 20 minutes early these trains can be quite erratic timekeepers with early running through some sections of the route commonplace. If you're going to do this location be sure to ask the farmer for access permission if parking in North Standen Road. He's a very amiable guy but understandably gets irked if people just go blithely wandering all over his land.

ADDITIONAL NOTES.
The "new" 'Red Lobster' engineers wagons being built for DB Cargo are recycled steel carriers, mostly ex BDA and BEA's. The conversion has come about as DB seeks to rid its fleet of four wheeled open aggregate wagons like MHA 'Coalfish' and MTA 'Doorands' which are also recycled vehicles being ex coal hopper frames for the MHA's and tank wagon frames for the MTA's. The downturn in the steel industry in the UK has created a surplus of Bogie Bolster wagons but these former BR air braked fleet wagons are in fact much older and this latest conversion is a third generation re-use.
The vehicle seen here started life as B 942207 a 42ton capacity Bogie Bolster. D (TOPS code BDO) built by BR Swindon Works in 1955 to diagram 1/472 and lot 2691. When BR shifted from unfitted and vacuum braked to air braked freight it was rebuilt at Ashford BREL Works in 1977 with new bogies and air brakes to emerge as 950010 from lot 3907 which covered vehicles 950001 to 950200 (TOPS code BDA) they had a 58 ton capacity. The wagons have gained the Civil Engineers designation 'Red Lobster' all though none seem to carry the legend yet.

DB Schenker red liveried 59206 is seen here heading south away from Melksham as it hauls the 7C66 17:47 Wootton Bassett to Merehead train of empty aggregate hopper wagons. Following some vegetation clearance and drainage works, this shot has been nicely opened up. 23/04/15.
Bardon Aggregates liveried 59005 sits on accommodation bogies at Freightliners Midland Road depot in Leeds. Its been there for a few months now, must be a big job or awaiting spares perhaps?
One of my favourite current liveries this one, far more complementary to the locos than some!!
Seen in the company of Freightliner's own 66's, Lto R 66505, 55589 & 66619.

I'd witnessed the outward trip being unloaded at Northampton Aggregates, Castle Yard, earlier in the day, so wasn't surprised to capture it on it's return to Mountsorrel, passing through Cathiron. 66213 was doing the honours, Saturday 24.1.15
