This is my entry for the third round of the MOCOlypics over on MocPages where I was given the category of "Post Apoc." Here I have depicted what remains after an epic gun battle that took place outside a paritally collapsed building.

One night while eating dinner with my girlfriend and her parents in the old section of Jhubei, Taiwan, I heard the unmistakable sound of Chinese suonas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suona) screaming down the street along with drums and gongs. At first, we thought it might be a funeral procession, as my girlfriend's mother told us not to open the doors as bad spirits might come inside the house.

Five minutes later, and the door was open - her mom's curiosity trumping her religiosity/superstition... as she was peeking out to see what the fuss was about.

Enter this festival - probably in relation to Ghost Month, which is coming up... demons and ghosts will be walking the streets, so it's always a good thing to keep them in check.

Sand and mud was and still is everywhere, the current plowed its way over everything, it did NOT STOP for the sign!

the old-school reprap extruder had a huge gap between the bottom of the teflon threads and the barrel. hot PLA can expand and get stuck in this area, jamming the extruder. the solution is to file down 5 mm or so of threads so that the end of the barrel can seal flush against the bottom of the hole.

Aftermath of large victorian mansion fire in town

This year we didn't do as bad at the "Guess how much candy the kids will go through" game. We bought 8lbs and ended up with only a few handfulls left.

They spent about half an hour playing in the kitchen--first by banging on all the things, and then playing some amazing rounds of Fling the Protein Bar.

Rain stopped wherever it was, and the thunderclouds disapated leaving a sliver of sunset.
