This giant tree limb came down on the neighborhood power lines and caused a seven-hour outage. We have said for years that this tree was an accident waiting to happen, and it finally did.
This is the aftermath from "Beauty emerges from Destruction"
This is an HDR from 3 exposures -/+2EV. It's not really too much processed. I wasn't really trying to do much with this.
Purpose of this shot is to just show the senseless destruction of nature. I know logging creates some jobs but still. It's just wrong to destroy trees for no reason other then financial gain.
He's cleaned as much as would/could be possible, without now, we suspect the need to dremel/buff out the remainder, to try and eliminate any possible high/low resistive shorts.
The July 2008 derailment at Turkey River, IA destroyed the DME 6053, DME 6079, DME 6077, and the ICE 6417. These pictures were taken after a hospital train was built with these engines in August 2008 and were sitting in Dubuque on 19 track waiting for their time to go to Nahant.

Unfortunately Mystic suffered a fire in the downtown area last night. More unfortunate yet, one life was claimed and several people were severly injured requiring medivac to Bridgeport.
Fire is a major concern in the downtown, having repeatedly burned down sections of the downtown. The old wooden buildings are built close together and fire often spreads rapidly between them. The local fire departments are very good and very quick to respond. This fire could have spread to the building directly behind which contians three retil businesses quite easily as the two buildings are less than five feet apart along their longest dimension. The fire squads also saved the front of this building from any apparant fire damage - quite a feat.
There is a reason why the fire departments around here are featured and hailed in every parade.
Once I got out to Mr. D's to shoot wildlife he regailed me with tales of some of Mystic's more infamous fires. He's over 90 now but pretty sharp, and loves a good chance to talk about Mystic, history, sailing, his adventures in his youth and a bit about his family.

It started out so innocent, I just wanted to eat one little chocolate Easter egg. So I hopped to my secret hideout where I had stashed the nest to make sure that no one else could eat them (you know who you are). After I ate one I thought I could have another one, them being so small and all. After that I don’t quite remember what happened. Bit of a binge I’m afraid.
My tummy was so full that I couldn’t even hopp anymore for quite a while.
Tomorrow I will eat only one…. Or two, but only two :-)
I found this sheet of proofs in a pile of trash and ashes after a fire in an apartment building down the street.
Early this morning, a house burned down north of Marble Falls, TX. Now it's time for "mopping up."
This is a panorama I took with my Treo.
This is the aftermath of today's networking meeting. It's whats left on the table. The waitress already cleared most of the dishes.

My tears have been my food day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"
