A bare-bones place. I had a 3 bedroom dorm room to myself for $10 in Jan. 2009. The second floor lounge has some architectural promise, but the room I was in had a window facing the stone wall on the right and did not get much air.
The mobile and traveling bakery hit the Festival of Lights in Riverside. That gingerbread was good — ! Beautifully spiced!
Jetzt müssen die beiden Scheinwerfer raus. Dazu zunächst, sofern vorhanden, die Schutzgitter entfernen. Die Lampen werden links und rechts durch zwei Bügel gehalten. Diese einfach hochziehen. Wahrscheinlich sind sie schwergängig. Sie dürfen nicht ganz hochgezogen werden. Nur soweit, bis Loch und Haltenase passend sind. Auf der inneren Seite ist das gut zu sehen, auf der Aussenseite hilft nur Gefühl.
It might seem strange to lament the loss of a McDonald’s especially by somebody such as me that always advocates going to mom-and-pop places instead of the big chains. However, this was a pretty special McDonald’s even though it was not the original tenant of this building.
The A-frame construction fit in perfectly with the Alpine architecture style seen throughout the San Bernardino Mountain Communities. In addition, this location was always very well-run.
Sadly, the investment company that holds almost all of the commercial property in both Blue Jay and Lake Arrowhead has decided the income it made from this McDonald’s as well as the bicycle store next door was not enough. Sometime after October 4, 2019 and the last Big Mac leaves the grill, this building will be torn down and replaced with a small box-style strip mall.

ADDENDUM: Due to various circumstances, the plans were changed and this building was not torn down. Beginning in the autumn of 2020, it became Blue Jay Burgers. Sadly, the food is so terrible it makes one wish it was still McDonald's.

Clayton Acme viewed from Linden Ave. driveway. The Acme A-frame building style is a close second to the A&P Centennial building as my favorite supermarket building design.
