The Plucky Knitter Primo Fingering"Neapolitan Kit" - Oatmeal, Bashful, and Smokey the Bear
I finished this in February, while reading The Hunger Games trilogy. What a fantastic knit, and so easy to do while reading. And I *LOVE* TPK. Perfect yarn for this knit. I loved this yarn and this pattern so much that I'm going to make it again in fall colors. My next TPK kit should be arriving this week.
I knit this on size 7s at a slightly looser gauge than pattern, and I ended up running out of the Oatmeal. A very kind raveler sent me enough to finish up. As you can see, this thing is ENORMOUS. I'm considering making the next one on size 6s or 5s.

Habitat : La sittelle torchepot affectionne les bois de haute futaie, feuillus, mixtes et résineux. Mais on la rencontre aussi en abondance dans les parcs et les grands jardins.
Comportements : La sittelle torchepot est capable de parcourir les troncs d'arbres et les branches dans un sens ou dans l'autre, même avec la tête en bas. Elle bouge obliquement, se suspendant grâce à la patte supérieure, et se propulsant avec l'autre. Elle n'utilise pas la queue comme les pics, mais ses longues griffes.
Pour se nourrir d'un gland ou d'une noisette, elle l'emporte sur une branche où elle la cale dans une crevasse de l'écorce, et elle la taillade pour l'ouvrir avec de vigoureux et bruyants coups de bec. Elle fréquente aussi les mangeoires où elle se montre très agressive, chassant les autres oiseaux. Elle est très active et agile. Elle sautille rapidement sur le sol.
Elle est souvent vue en couples ou seule. Elle dort dans un trou d'arbre ou de rocher.
La parade nuptiale démarre début mars.

Another slight case of cheating for 113 Pictures in 2013 via "The Two Towers".
Haldir looks a tad bit uncomfortable at getting such an enthusiastic hug from Aragon, but it did turn out to be the last hug of his life.

Wood carving of a grateful citizen greeting the liberating troops after the Nazis had been defeated. The museum staff was not happy about me taking a photo of this (sans flash, of course!). Not sure why. Were they ashamed by such a show of affection between men?
