Just another one. Don't worry, I'll post a pic of how it's done...

My first entry for Dali Zheng's speeder bike contest. The lower left pic shows that it fits in a 16x6x6 (trust me, it's only about 5.5 bricks tall compressed) area, and the upper left shows it's fig-fitting-ness.

A very fun and quick build that took on an extremely stylized appearance.

this particular SPAM Gun is named Gus. Gus isn't 100% finished, but he's done enough to show him off a bit ^ _ ^

Fun with Flaming Pear...

In the Orphic hymns Aether appears as the soul of the world, from which all life emanates

O Ever untam'd Aether, who reign'st on high

In Jove's dominions ruler of the sky;

The glorious sun with dazzling lustre bright,

And moon and stars from thee derive their light;

All taming pow'r, ætherial shining fire,

Whose vivid blasts the heat of life inspire:

The world's best element, light-bearing pow'r,

With starry radiance shining, splendid flow'r,

O hear my suppliant pray'r, and may thy frame

Be ever innocent, serene, and tame.

I found these faceted blue jade beads when I was sourcing beads for a commission. The customer didn't choose these, but I thought they were pretty, and I have no blue in my stash, so I bought them anyway. With oxidised copper wire.

This is fan art I made last year for a steampunk Christian game called *'Aetherlight'. I really like how it turned out—aside from the spinny pointer thing in the center. Everything else is 3-D, but that part missed the memo, heh. Plus the circle connecting it to the glass is a bit wonky. :/

*It's awesome—you should definitely check it out. Also, the Aetherlight Forums have a really friendly community.

For any who may be interested, it uses 80 pieces, which is somewhat high for the size.

Aether

(The Lost World)

Upon arrival at the slopes at the backside of the caves of Al Alia, Lady Porkshanks could begin to sense the stench of burning sulphur in the air. She noticed the smoke column was rolling in a somewhat relaxed and constant manner from a hole near the bottom of the rocky outcropping ahead.

She had a feeling she had smelled this particular concoction before, but she wasn't sure. The caves had tainted the exhaust of the combustion device with a musty odor, but it was surely no natural fire that spawned it.

"Could the devil really be darkening our doorstep once more... " she muttered to herself in near disbelief, as it would mean a truly insane presence was again at work. One she had hoped would have found peace already.

Looking down the entrance to the small cave, she could feel a subtle thrum in the warm gusts buffeting her. Setting some fingers upon her straw safari helmet to keep it atop her head, she began into the darkness.

Turning on her personal Ambience Enhancer, she utilized the small amount of light the readout shed to step surely down the long, straight tunnel. She could tell by the marks on the walls that it was no natural cavern, in fact it looked to be chipped at in such an even manner that only an elaborate machine of some kind could.

Her fears were confirmed, for only the dastardly Emil Reynard possessed the daft ingenuity and funds at his disposal that could achieve the creation of such a thing as a machine that could eat solid rock!

And to what end?! He was surely operating something secretly within the belly of the caves, but why? And why would he need to trick The Veritas League into being here, and why now?

Lost in thought, Lady Porkshanks nearly missed the dark iron door set into the wall of the tunnel!

Her pulse quickening with dread, she grabbed at the massive handle, turning it to no avail! The lock was set!

Pulling Gus out of her pack, she activated it and pointed the nozzle at the keyhole, waiting for the ready light to indicate a full charge of Anti-Aether in the chamber.

As soon as the green light blinked on, she shut her eyes and pulled the trigger. Gus shook slightly in her hands as a powerful volley of strange matter issued from the nozzle straight at the keyhole; breaking down the very reality of the material in the space it hit!

colours and sounds swam around her briefly as the laws of nature worked to enforce themselves upon the impossible moment they had bore witness together. When she was sure it was safe to move, she slowly pushed the door with her boot and it obsequiously creaked open.

The blast of cool, fresh air took her by surprise. She hadn't noticed how hot the tunnel had gotten it was so gradual a change in atmosphere. The air also carried something else: distant voices! She could tell they were male from the resonance, but little else due to any discernment being echoed away into oblivion.

Behind the door was a narrow stairwell, with a curved brick wall on the right, and an absolutely enormous metal chamber on the left! It was cool to the touch, and trimmed in steamship gauge rivets. This was a pressure well of some kind, she reckoned... or possibly a cooling tower.

It didn't matter at the moment, for she was attempting to quietly scale the stairs as quickly as she could manage. The stairwell did feature the comfort of a rudimentary lighting system, with exposed wires sparking in a rhythmic manner to cast a glow into the darkness. She clicked off the Ambience Enhancer with her purposefully bare ring finger but she kept her trusty Gus at the ready. About twenty steps up the strairwell, the green light flicked back on.

Up ahead, she could see the top of the well curving around, exposing the dark rock above it. The voices were clearer now, she could recognize the distinctive sneer of Reynard bounding off the walls at her, “You waste your breath holy man.”

Then the voice of her friend, The Reverend Oryza defiantly uttering, “Do I?”

A short silence was followed by a great metallic clash and screaming from both men, nearly simultaneously! Her heart pounding, Lady Porkshanks feared the worst, and abandoned her stealth with a full gait up the steps.

Upon the apex of the stairwell, she looked down to see Reynard standing on the cavern floor a level below with a bare torso; but instead of flesh, he seemed to have a sort of metal armour installed into his chest. He was grabbing a knife from the floor nearby and he appeared quite cross with one reverend who lay in a prone fashion before him. Near the good reverend was a medical table holding one Professor Fumolatro, the stalward leader of the league was struggling to escape from his bondage!

Knowing that there was no way to intervene any other way, Lady Porkshanks leveled her weapon at Reynard's seemingly unprotected head and pulled on the trigger!
