Dressed for the outdoors, Japanese pop idol Hatsune Miku enthusiastically poses for the camera while on a leisurely walk in a meadow. Having performed across the world in countless physical and virtual concerts, Miku has long since learned to appreciate the humble pleasures of basking in the outdoors. While still in Winter even with the start of February, Miku eagerly awaits the right season to start hiking again, preferably somewhere a touch more "expeditionary."

This is not the most beautiful image of our home galaxy, but it is my first good picture of it.

And it was quiet a challenge to get to the location this was shot.

The photo was shot in the alps near the city lienz on top of a mountain with a lake.

It all began with a family vacation in austria and I`ve planned this tour together with my 17 year old twinbrother.

It is the first time we spend the night on top of a mountain without a tent.

After a 4 hour hike we finaly arrived at our destination called the Neualpseen.

It is high alpine territory which means that the temperatures are pretty low. Luckly, we had enough blankets and thick clothes to not die by the cold temperatures

(I know, this is a bit overdramatic(._.))

We hoped that the lake would be a nice mirror to reflect the milky way, but we got disappointed because of a strong wind.

And the moon came up after a few hours which made it very difficult to photograph the stars. At around 2 a.m we decided to go to sleep

We didn`t sleep very well because we haven`t found a wind-proof loacation where the ground is level which meant that we were in danger to slip into the tarn.

But we survived and early in the morning, we made our way home.

I will upload more photos from that night in a few days.

The boom in tourism on Koh Tao started in the 1980s, but the island only really became a popular destination for divers in the 1990s. In the beginning, mainly adventurous travelers and diving enthusiasts went to Koh Tao because of the beautiful underwater world and the relaxed island life. Over the years, tourism on Koh Tao has grown steadily, and the island now has a reputation as one of the top diving destinations in the world. In the 1980s, Koh Tao was not so easily accessible. But an unexpected itinerary emerged that was both adventurous and scenic. Koh Tao could only be reached via Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. The road to Koh Tao first led to bustling Koh Samui. Travelers embarked on a lively mix of tourists, locals and adventurers. The old wooden boats, which once served as fishing vessels, had been converted into small passenger ships that sailed between the islands. From Koh Samui the boat sailed to Koh Phangan, an island that was already known for its relaxed atmosphere and beautiful beaches. Along the way, travelers were greeted by the glittering sea and endless horizon, while the sunset created a magical spectacle over the sea. Arriving on Koh Phangan, where the beaches were still pristine and the coconut trees swayed gently in the sea breeze, travelers transferred to another converted fishing boat. These boats became the charming means of ferrying between the islands, with a quirky characteristic that made the journey unique. Finally, travelers arrived on the paradise of Koh Tao. The island was not yet as developed as it is today, but it exuded an untouched beauty with its crystal clear waters and lush coral reefs. While this route may now be considered nostalgic, it is a reminder of a time when the islands were not as connected by modern ferry services. It was a time when traveling to Koh Tao was an adventurous expedition where the converted fishing boats were the heroes of this scenic journey across the Gulf of Thailand.

Long ago, about thirty-five years ago, the journey to Koh Tao from Chumphon was an adventure in itself. At that time, when the Internet was not yet widespread and information was scarce, planning a boat trip to the islands was an uncertain undertaking. In those days the usual procedure was to go to any pier and see if there was a fishing boat available to sail to Koh Tao. The process was purely on spec, and there were no guarantees. The weather played a crucial role, and when the waves were too high, the boats refused to sail. Over time, travel options evolved with the introduction of speedboats, which significantly sped up the crossing to the island. Despite their speed, however, these boats also brought challenges. The sea skills of the speedboats sometimes left much to be desired, causing passengers to bounce over the waves and become seasick. Fortunately, with advances in transportation technology and the rise of advanced ferry services, the travel experience has improved significantly. Nowadays Lomprayah High-Speed Ferries offers the possibility to reserve seats online on comfortable catamarans. The extra-long pier is designed to accommodate the catamaran at low tide, when the water is too shallow.

A calm, but focused sami mother on foot with three reindeer tied to her back: the oldest son looking adventurous on the first reindeer, a baby in a crib tied to the side of the next reindeer, thus being naturally cradled from the movement, and the middle son on the last reindeer, looking to make sure his mother is still there in front.

I find being a transvestite is always an adventurous experience and I admit the dressing up and the performance aspect really appeal to me. I am at heart a frustrated actor and cross-dressing gives me some fulfilment in this area. I do enjoy trying to become female and to do my best to make that portrayal work. Admittedly I greatly enjoy spending time as a woman, I am comfortable and rather joyful each time I become my female alter-ego. It boils down to despite living as a man I also like being a woman.

I am hooked on wearing make-up, plucking my eyebrows, waxing or shaving off my body hair and indulging in some female beauty treatments. I find it all rather thrilling and enjoy the fact that my conventional upbringing frowns upon men trying to become feminine and I really love the blinkered view that just because I dress as a woman I must be homosexual, ha! If only things were that simple.

I know that part of me desires to be female so this is part of my motivation in cross-dressing yet I also know I love the excitement and the thrill of dressing and trying to be female, it is a collision with my sexuality and upbringing. I also kind of dare myself to push the physicality somewhat.

I see women doing certain things for appearances and I wonder what that must be like. For example I am fascinated by some of the regimes women put up with to maintain appearances and my curiosity also wants to try it for myself. Part of me wants to favour my female appearance over my male appearance yet I know realistically I need to keep my cross-dressing a secret. My family wish this also and I have agreed to that request from them.

I still do certain things to push it physically though and the most risky one is I pluck and shape my eyebrows. I do prefer to have groomed feminine eyebrows and have done this once or twice but I had to scale it back a bit to avoid it being noticeable in my male life. I think I have a balance now that works in both genders.

There are still things I like to try out though and I do like the results of having my entire body waxed at a salon. I don't enjoy the waxing process but I feel amazing afterwards. I usually get my eyebrows waxed at the same time to provide a clean area between my eyes and eyebrows, I really like this. My natural eyebrows are very bushy, shapeless and thick looking. Another thing I rarely get the chance to undergo but I do enjoy is being fake tanned, this really is a commitment favouring the female appearance over the male I find as generally I'm waxed smooth, eyebrows shaped then spray tanned over my entire body...it's very daring and quite exciting to do this as you cannot hide the fact you've changed yourself physically.

To then put on make-up, attach subtle false eyelashes, create a bit of cleavage with tape, tuck away ones male genitals and wear a bra and knickers really hits you psychologically, the woman is emerging and the man is diminishing. I find myself rather keen to get my nails painted at this stage then even keener to put on a dress. Once I fit my wig I feel a huge sense of relief and rather complete and then after a dab of perfume, clip on some ear rings and finally, and I always leave this to the end, I step into my high heel shoes with bare waxed smooth fake tanned legs....I almost feint with sheer joy and the thrill of having dared to do this despite being a man, it is an utterly fabulous moment. Sometimes the joy really gets to me and I can feel a bit tearful with the happiness and have sometimes ruined my mascara. It is emotionally a big release for me. At that moment all I want is to be female forever, I am consumed.

Everything changes, my thinking, my mannerisms, my behaviour, I can almost feel the female taking over but...but...somehow she never quiet does so. The man still lingers in the background and won't go away. I am desperate at this moment of cross-dressing for him to be gone but to date I've never quite passed that final hurdle and I think the male remaining holds back my ability to become a female. The male presence reminds my I am not what I desire to be and this is all simply an illusion, in short it is dressing up but for a man it is quite an experience and feels incredibly liberating and utterly amazing.

Things do calm after a while and I find myself doing things such as looking at myself in the mirror frequently, taking photos, walking around aimlessly enjoying the swish of my dress and clack of my heels, catching the scent of my perfume, the sight of my painted nails, looking down I can see cleavage and the shape of my breasts, the thrill engulfs once more and sheer euphoria courses through me. How can a bit of shaving, make-up, a wig and underwear, dresses and high heels have such an effect? I have no idea but it is a fantastic experience I never regret having, in fact I would use the words truly wonderful to describe it, it is the best thing I have ever done as a man!

I do have issues about being a transvestite, I feel guilt for enjoying it so much, especially spending money on it as cross-dressing is an expensive thing to indulge in yet I cannot resist, I have a in built need to do this and regret the years I suppressed it. It is never a one hundred percent rewarding experience though as the angst and guilt and fear of discovery do serve to temper the joy and excitement of it all. Sometimes I think it's a curse, other times a real gift. I do know with absolute certainty I adore cross-dressing and how I feel when I attempt to appear as a female. Of course I never succeed but I still have a lovely time and there is a lot of fun in acting as a woman.

I genuinely feel good in make-up, wig, dress and high heels, it is not the most comfortable clothing to wear when you are taped up, tucked and wearing false breasts and hip shaping and I wish at times I had these physical attributes for real and it would not have the discomfort of the tape and shaping elements yet there is a part of me that delights in knowing I'm a man impersonating a female. It's a mixed bag of dreams, aspirations, desires, thrills, excitement, adventure and emotional ups and downs.

Being a transvestite? I would not give it up for anything!

I love the island.

Two weeks without doing a photo felt like an eternity.

This photo is in representation of those times where the way may seem risky and unsafe, but is full of great adventures.

This image was taken in Gran Canaria - Spain, during our summer holidays.

After many days spent in the dunes I was so exhausted but kept coming back for more! This day the sunrise was so rejuvenating for my adventurous soul. I need to get back there soon!

Two adventurous brothers Harihara and Bukka established the kingdom of Vijaya Nagara in 1336 AD. This empire ascended to glory covering almost the entire peninsular India from coastal Karnataka to Orissa during the reign of Krishna Deva Rayar, its most illustrious Emperor (1509-1529). The empire's decline started in the second half of 16th Century. This beautiful city was destroyed completely in a war with the invading Muslim army when the Muslim soldiers of Vijaya Nagar, in a historical act of Treason, joined the enemy troops during the war. Now the ruins of the city remain spread over 40 sq. kilometres in a village called Hampi in central Karnataka

This beautiful chariot carved in stone is in the Temple complex dedicated to Vishnu (Vijaya Vittala Temple). The temple was desecrated by the enemy, exquisite work of art defaced and the idols of deities removed and destroyed.

I just could not sleep...but thats ok :)

If you rest here for a while you are likely to see people coming and going around the Lower Lake. Looks like someone forgot his or her jacket on the bench, it really has been a very warm few weeks. In the background the outdoor gym.

Guy has announced the Iron Builder Mixels D&D building contest. I am so there! Prepare for battle, fellow builders. No holds will be barred, no quarter given. Remember to check for traps and secret doors. And may you always fail your saving throw ;-)

Another picture of the adorable baby black leopard who was exploring the wooden platform near his mother. I love his deep green eyes!

Once again, the window made the picture very soft, sadly...

Picture taken in the zoo of Amnéville in France.

Carrbridge's most famous landmark is the old packhorse bridge, from which the village is named. The bridge, built in 1717 is the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands. It was severely damaged in the "muckle spate" of 1829 which left it in the condition seen today. In 1847 someone wrote to the Inverness Courier giving it as an example of one of the "all but deserted [bridges of which] the most useful and picturesque ought to be preserved". It is now unstable and is recommended only to be viewed from afar. Jumping off the bridge into the River Dulnain below had long been a popular pastime for younger locals and the more adventurous tourists.

I would not recommend jumping off the bridge the water is very shallow.

Great location to relax because there is not much traffic from cars in this area.

William Mesny (1842-1919), born on the channel island of Jersey, was an adventurous lad. Not much given to scholastic studies, he went to the Seas already at twelve. In 1860 he'd made his home in China as a mercenary, and soon, by 1873, he'd advanced to be major general of the Imperial Chinese Army. Whether he was ever given the high honor of the Imperial Yellow Jacket - like more famous Gordon of Khartoum - I don't know. Perhaps he spread his talents too thinly.

Besides a soldier he was also an adventurer, traveler and naturalist; he collected many plants and dutifully sent them off to England. Among them this Bright Yellow Jasmine, named after him in 1882. He discovered it on April 11, 1880 in the mountains of Guizhou (a Chinese province due north of North Vietnam) at about 1800 m and noted that it is winter-flowering. So I suppose it doesn't really need to be in the sheltered Palm House of the Hortus...

"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing."

Picking a direction is never easy, but turning back without even choosing leaves an ache for what could have been just around the corner.

I had dwindling light and bigger ideas that I couldn't quite carry out without certain props, so I will be back. Also there were a ridiculous number of biting red ants.
