This is RUPERT, a gentle, affectionate Plott Hound/Carolina Dog mix who’s a little under one year old. He’s a very endearing, people-focused young dog who has a rather sensitive, submissive side, so he’ll do well with kind handling and training to build his confidence. He’s quite playful once he warms up – he loves to pounce on a ball, and loves his toys!
Rupert will be a sweet family pet.

Sunday, I went out to walk in the forest near where I live. By chance, I found a sign pointing to an animal place. I think that's where they take care of abandoned animals (cats and dogs, mainly). Entrance is free, and people can adopt most of the animals.
I spent most of my time playing with the cats, through their cages. I think most of them will be adopted soon though, it looks like quite a lot of people are visiting with the intention of taking a new friend back home. Good for them, it's sad to see all these poor animals in cages.
You should have heard the dogs.

This handsome boy is Lupe, and he's currently at the Humane Society of Missouri. He's a Pug - Shar Pei mix.
His back is only about mid-shin high, but he has a big dog personality in a little body. He has white fur with tan freckles all over his back, and the fur on his wrinkly face is like velvet. He loves to check himself out in the mirrored windows around our complex, and see how nice he looks.
Please consider allowing Lupe into your home. He's a sweet boy, and he'd be so happy with a forever home and family, and lots of love.

Aug 8: Lupe got adopted today!! Woohoo! This sweet boy was rescued from a puppy mill, so even though he's an adult, he's never known any home, or any love except from the volunteers. We're all SO excited for Lupito to finally have a family and a home! (I know his new mom thought I was a crackhead for asking, but I got a picture of them together and sent it to our newsgroup, and everyone went completely bananas!)
Daisy is about 1 year old and a shepherd / terrier mix.
She's very calm and friendly and just teeny tiny :)
DOBERMAN MIX PUPPIES: There are 4 of these adorable Doberman mix puppies, 2 female & 2 male, about 3 months old. They’re sweet, gentle, social and playful – they love to romp and wrestle with each other :-)
These little guys are looking for loving families who’ll give them lots of attention and playtime, and take them to puppy class.
They live in kennel P10.

ARABELLA is a gorgeous, 1 1/2 – 2 year old German Shepherd mix who’s gentle, friendly but a little worried. She warms up with kind handling and encouragement and shows her playful side – she loves her toys, and likes to bat a tennis ball between her paws :-)
She seems to like other dogs.
Arabella will be a wonderful companion for a loving family.

PENNY is a lovely Cattledog mix who’s a little under one year old. She’s a rather sensitive, submissive young dog, but she’s very people-focused, and will blossom with kind handling and training. She does well with other dogs. Penny will be an adorable family companion.
