Graphic design; illustator assignment

It wasn't really red, but we had to do a black and white version aswell as a color one, so i made it red.

Came out way different than the first sketches I had in mind... but I'm happy with it.

We're already getting hot and heavy with Christmas media and event finalizing.

Finished this up a bit earlier because it was a bit of a rush so that we can get some flyer/cards printed that we'll be putting in small bibles we're wrapping with wrapping paper and passing out at a city Christmas parade in early December. Quite excited about it, and happy with how this has turned out.

Let me know what you guys think, and what you would have done differently with a quick (within 4 hours of a meeting) deadline. My creative process was GREATLY squished and stream lined for this one. Still went through basically every phase though. It's amazing how you can optimize your workflow when the pressure is on.

This is just the in-house still screen graphic. I might add some motion later on in early December to add a bit more fun to it though. So don't worry, all the other advertisements (flyers, cards, etc.) have a lot more info about the church on em (address, website, phone, etc.)

Anyway, bring on the comments and such.

Fun cartoon illustration featuring a monster/creature in a hot rod Jeep Wrangler the Odd Rods/"Big Daddy" Roth/Ratfink style.

"I wish I had larger shoulders/ I wish I had a back of a mule./ Doing my job, and living my life. . . ."

Taken from a poem written by Matt Ross (rossmat5msu)

Matt wrote this poem for his new group Poetry in Stream-- I thought his idea for the group sounded intriguing.

This is my drawing of a donkey (I had to use an old piece of clip art as a reference since I don't have a pet donkey to model for me!) rather than a mule, but since a mule is the hybrid offspring of a donkey and a horse, I thought it would work.

This logo is a larger version of my "eye" design. It is 86 by 86 pixels.

A Fender guitar I made in Adobe Illustrator. I had just grasped the concept of the gradient mesh and i decided to go for a challenge. THIS IS NOT A VEXEL! This is 100% vectors.

Wanted to practice a walk cycle in flash and came up with this silly idea.

Based on John Cleese (but with a monocle and tache!) from "Monty Pythons Flying Circus" circa 1970

I love the brilliant color and vibrancy of old fruit crate labels; this design is inspired by the same aesthetic and by Aesop's fable "The Fox and the Grapes." Three and its multiples are emphasized throughout the design; for example, there are 3 clusters of grapes with each cluster having 3 rows of fruit, 9 grapes per cluster, etc. This design was created using Adobe Illustrator, and all colors are sampled from the Firefox logo for visual congruity.

Do something creative every day | Part 39 | American Psycho

I figured, since it's Halloween today, I should do something kind of scary, so I chose to do an American Psycho minimalist movie poster (even though it's not a Halloween movie). I haven't seen most Halloween movies, and it felt disingenuous to do a poster for a movie I've never seen.

Logo and label. Wow, that's some nutty bread!

Nutty Pumpkin Bread

Serve this moist spiced bread with sweet butter or spread with cream cheese and serve with tea or coffee for a special breakfast.

1 3/4 cups sugar

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

4 eggs

1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree

3/4 cup milk

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans

1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Coat two 4 1/4 by 8 3/4-inch loaf pans with cooking spray.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until smooth. Add the eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in the pumpkin puree and milk.

3. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, walnuts, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add to the pumpkin mixture and stir just until the flour is moistened.

4. Divide the batter between the prepared pans, smoothing the tops. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool 5 minutes in the pans. Turn onto wire racks and cool completely.

Tip

If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, you can use 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger and 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves.
