Beijing 08/08/08 | The big day had finally arrived, we should feel proud of being Chinese. The number '8' in Chinese means fortune, I hope this big event will run smoothly as today is triple 8 (8th August, 2008), triple fortune. As a Chinese, Mr Jimmy Choo and his student Kim Kwang had decided to celebrate this big day by designing a special edition pair of shoes. Red real leather, decorated by Swarovski crystal and Chinese embroidery, wood-made platform with golden embroidery thread.

I'm so glad to be invited to illustrate these conceptual shoes, to bring the idea into visual and show the world the great design.

charles harker, 2010. The wind in summer on the free road in the mountains between Mazatlan and Culiacan in the state of Sinaloa. Hot vegetation! And sticker plants too.

This artwork, featuring surfer Dustin Barca, was a blast to create. My sister found this ad on a coffe cup holder! His action shot is one of my favorites (but his bod shot is hot, also!).

Based off a classic Austrian travel poster. I re-produced it using Adobe Illustrator. I added in a second alpine peak on the left in the background so it is easily differentiated from the original.

Updated diocesan shield. New high resolution version with new Latin text. jpg version.

A reproduction of a vintage KLM airline poster created in Adobe Illustrator.

Done about a zillion times... so I had to make one too.

A sticker I designed for stickerswaps.cratejoy.com and one that will be printed soon.

I found inspiration in old USSR medals.

Yesterday I started a new group called Kentucky Is a State Of Mind, and this is the artwork I created for the comment code.

I invite anyone who is a Kentucky artist, craftsman, or photographer, or who has photos taken in the state--or even those whose work features Kentucky motifs (think Kentucky Bourbon, beautiful horses, cigarettes, and southern belles) to join my new group. And if you believe, as do I, that Kentucky is not only a state but a state of mind, you're welcome to join us also. You truly will have found your "Old Kentucky Home!"

You can find the group at the following address:

This reached #15 on Explore on April 22.

The goal as usual was to make an illustration entirely in vectors but with a little bit of Photoshop and 3D look.

It really took me a while and also it took a while for my computer to make it happend :)

I’m not sure how many layers I’ve made – but sure a lot! Now I’m really proud of myself for pulling this off .

Here U can find more details and some close-ups as well: gagatka.pl/?p=1509

Produced in Adobe Illustrator. I changed the place name to a Colorado location I was familiar with.

P-47 D "P-47 D "Razerback" of Lt. Richard D. Stark, 82nd Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group. A digital file created with Adobe Illustrator. He became a Prisoner of War (POW) after being shot down near Amern in this aircraft on September 3rd, 1944

Pied Currawong are wicked birds but still part of nature’s plan. They have beautiful call notes and usually park themselves high in eucalypts to sing their songs right around sunup. Beautiful. The musical notes are what gave them their name. ‘Curra-wong, Curra-wong’. Larger than magpies and smaller than ravens they are easily recognised by yellow eye colour, contrasting the red eyes of a magpie and white eyes of crows.

I brought these guys lower into the Melulacas to forage on tree trunks and limbs, taking insects and larvae. Smaller birds should beware. Currawong are nest robbers and small birds are fair game.

Oakley ad artwork featuring pro surfer Chris Ward. The original bottle was Corona Beer.

Another Adobe Illustrator reproduction of a classic cable car

travel poster for the French Alps. I did this for practice and because I really liked the original poster.

The artist appears to be Henry Rev.
