I took many shots for this brief. I had been playing with Bokeh before this brief was announced so I already had some idea how to do this.
"Fairy Princess looking for home" or " Starry Starry Night"
Posted comment "Hard - Be close yet put a large foreground object in picture and produce Bokeh (model remains still). Telescope helps tell the story, Christmas lights behind. 1 hour to prepare,30 shots
Camera: Canon EOS Aperture: less than F/2 Exposure time: 1/15 "
The Canon EOS Photo5 competition is over for 2009. There were 5 briefs and this was my submission for one of them. Unfortunately I did not make the top 10 in any brief. I spent countless hours designing shots, thinking up ideas and taking advice, so I thought it was a shame not to put these up on the internet for others to view.

The shots were all taken with a Canon 30D and various lenses, extension tubes and lighting sources. Some of my attempts were HDR and some natural lighting.
I have used the Canon logo on the watermark so I hope Canon don't mind and see this as advertising for next years event in 2010 :)
The 2009 5 briefs were:
Splat (Capturing Action)
"This is a messy brief. The task is to capture liquid in motion. The supplied powdered paint is child safe and you can consider it a starter splat. If you run out feel free to adlib with other liquids like milk, mud or paint but NOT water. USE ONLY OPAQUE LIQUIDS!, Your image needs to capture liquid in action and not the aftermath. If it’s still dripping, flying through the air or splashing, it qualifies."
Close up (100s and 1000s)
"This small candy brief is all about getting your lens close to the object. You must feature these tiny hundreds & thousands but you don’t need to use them all, and if you need more you are free to source your own."
Bokeh (Experimental)
"Photography was born from those who loved to experiment. This is a lesser known experiment that has been around since photography first began. You must choose and attach only one of the supplied Bokeh hoods to the front of your lens when you create your image. This brief will require a little more prep work but the effect is well worth the patience."
Portraiture (Glasses)
"This is a portraiture brief where you must feature the supplied black spectacles. Other than that its open to your interpretation. Consider your lighting choices and your choice of subject. The winning image will present the viewer with just as many questions as answers. A portrait is all about capturing a personality and you don't necessarily need to see the whole person (or all of the glasses) to achieve that."
Practically Black (Low light)
"Practically black is an OPEN BRIEF which means that even those who have missed out on this years EOS Photo5 box can still enter. This is the first year a brief like this has existed. The ‘Practically Black’ brief is about shooting in dark situations while still maintaining details in the image. We expect to receive very moody imagery for this brief."

I suspect that this car is from the 1950's. It was my fathers, mine and now my daughter uses it.
Anyone know it's exact age or name/model ?
UPDATE: The pedal car is made by CCMC it was made in the 1960's in Australia.

After having to postpone the concert for 18 months because of Covid, Eberson were finally able to play in Bodø at the Sinus stage in Stormen, arranged by the adlib jazz club.
The band is lead by dad and guitarist Jon Eberson and his daughter and keyboardist Marte Eberson. It was a really nice concert, and I shot these photos.

Penrith Winter Droving 2021 - Saturday
This year’s festival was the 10th anniversary of Penrith Winter Droving, and it was held under the dual horrors of both covid19 and horrendous weather conditions. Even this couldn't stop it though, and it was an overwhelming success like the previous nine years.
For the first time in The Winter Droving’s history the event was held over 3 days, celebrating Music, Art, Culture and Light. Rocking musicians, fire breathing performance art and larger-than-life illuminated lanterns, once again saw droves of people descend into Penrith’s town centre ready to join in with the masquerade.
This year’s Winter Droving was different because it had to be. With the potential gloom of COVID still hanging in the air, organisers curated a festival that abided by social distancing rules, whilst still being the same event that everyone knows and loves. It was an opportunity for the town to celebrate after a turbulent past 18 months. The organisers aim was once again to bring people together and reignite the Cumbrian community spirit.
The Winter Droving spanned 3 days, from Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th October 2021.

I loved painting this quick sketch at the last dusting of snow we had. No breexe and the sun was out. Of course I always adlib color and shape as my imagination dictates. I try to listen to the painting so it paints itself.
