Trying to get the swr on the cb antenna adjusted, it was too long as the swr was higher on channel 40 than on channel 1. I didn't want to cut the bottom off because it's thicker

and I didn't want to cut the top off because it has a ball on it so I bent several inches of the top over and down and the swr was good. So I cut the antenna at the bend, straightened it out and wrapped some 22 gauge bare copper wire around the two pieces to hold them together but allow them to slide for adjusting.

I started at the longest position testing the swr on both channel 1 and 40 and began shortening the antenna by sliding until I achieved the best reading across the band and that would include channel 19, the center of the cb band.

At that point I applied solder to the copper wire. The antenna could still slide but it was tighter. I then put two different sizes of heat shrink over this section and heated it to tighten, then I sealed the ends of the heat shrink witl Lexel clear caulking.

After testing the antenna this morning it has an swr < 1.5:1 across the band. I'm satisfied.

Here is what it looks like with the heat shrink on it:

Each day in our life, we come across many people and find ourselves in different situations which can either be favourable or unfavourable to us. Not everyone whom we meet shares same thoughts and ideas like us. How do we deal in such situations? How can be solve the problem without any ill feelings towards everyone? To deal with such situations, Dadashri has gives us the key of 'Adjust Everywhere'.

The dunes were formed from sand deposits of the Rio Grande and its tributaries, flowing through the San Luis Valley. Over the ages, westerly winds picked up sand particles from the river flood plain. As the wind lost power before crossing the Sangre de Cristo Range, the sand was deposited on the east edge of the valley. This process continues, and the dunes are slowly growing. The wind changes the shape of the dunes daily.

There are several streams flowing on the perimeter of the dunes. The streams erode the edge of the dune field, and sand is carried downstream. The water disappears into the ground, depositing sand on the surface. Winds pick up the deposits of sand, and blow them up onto the dune field once again.

Digging a few inches into the dunes even at their peaks reveals wet sand. If the streams were to dry up, the dunes would disappear; in fact part of the motivation of turning the Monument into a National Park was the extra protection of the water, which Colorado's cities and agriculture covet. -Wikipedia

The concept of my project revolves around an overall focus on Human Resources Management as a workforce and as a service. I wanted it to incorporate both images of a business, whether they are buildings or office supplies or items around the office, but also people doing business with each other. The image portfolio should demonstrate the business of people and how people skills are involved in human resources. Each image represents a branch of Human Resources Management.

This image was created using two photos from Flickr, and a screenshot of the color palette from one of the images.

"Puzzle Pieces", by Pablo Rios (Pablo S Rios)

Description of techniques used:

•I started off with a base image of the globe in water, selected only the globe, and duplicated another layer of just the globe.

•I then converted the background layer of water to black and white, keeping the globe layer in color.

•I took the puzzle layer, applied the Artistic Filter “Cutout”, adjusted the levels, and applied a blending option of opacity to make it barely visible, but arranged it to be on top of the water layer (and also black and white filter).

•I selected and cut the puzzle layer to only cover the water area, and afterward I used the Blur/Smudge Tool to blend the horizon of the water with the puzzle edge.

•I then ran the original globe image through Kuler to determine the color palette. This was print-screened, cut, and pasted into my final image as a bottom border.

•I used the green color that I found from the palette to use in my typeface, which then had an outer glow applied to it to really pop.

Notes for this particular image:

This image was supposed to be an overall general image for Human Resources Management, illustrating that it is a global concept and the puzzle pieces represent how HR is truly a puzzle piece connecting all different parts of a business organization.

A cyclist needs to be comfortable.

For use with Enduro bags, either both preload adjusters must be trimmed so they can swing out, or the shocks can be switched side to side so the adjusters swing in, and the right adjuster trimmed to clear the vent. This photo shows the LH preloader installed on the RH side so it swings in, but it will hit the final drive vent. To avoid cutting it, a used, previously-cut adjuster was bought and painted. The shock must be unscrewed from the old adjuster to install the new adjuster.

Well, once again, it has been quite a while since my last post...been pretty busy with work and other things. This shot was actually taken last weekend on a shoot with Aaron Reed and Navdog, although we did bump into a few other photographers down there this morning. I think today or yesterday would have been the prime time to hit up this park, but we still had some pretty good conditions on this morning, before the sun became too harsh anyway. I look forward to catching up on Pacific Northwest season changes in all your streams!

Oh look... another picture of more seagulls.

My brother recently traveled to China, Tibet, and Nepal and returned with many pictures. I loved this picture of his showing what I think are chrysanthemums, and I reprocessed it to give it a different look from his.
