Adjustable Focussing Scale

W. Butcher & Sons Carbine nº 3a Quarter Plate folding camera with Aldis Uno Anastigmat f/7.7 (to f/45) set in a Lukos II shutter (25, 50, 100, B, T).
The camera has a dual back that accepts either 122 format film or a plate back. Both camera body and back have matching serial numbers (B42082). A wooden take-up 122 film spool (Kodak) is included.
The unit seems to date to roughly around World War I. A unit shown in a 1914 catalogue, which list this shutter and lens combination for the quarter plate format has minor differences, in particular the finger holds for pulling out the front standard.
A neat touch is a small padded section on the front door that protects the lens when the camera is closed
The camera carries the model name (Carbine Nº 3a) embossed into the leather handle, but is badged with a metal tag reading "Carbine J.W.Small Australia" on one side and on the other carries the metal tag "T.A. Dickson Photographic Stores Geelong".
J.W. Small was a 'camera supply store' in business from about 1871 to the 1920s, with successors operating until after World War II. At the time this camera was distributed, J.W. Small had stores in Sydney and Melbourne.
T.A. Dickson was a chemist in Geelong who sold photographic supplies in quantities, but it would appear as a side-line to his pharmaceutical interests.

Monument Valley, Utah. A red sandstorm at sunset. As I drove into Monument Valley, I asked the ranger where it was and he said you are in it! The wind was blowing at 40mph and I could only see a few hundred feet in front of me. It started to clear up shortly before sunset. I made this image with my Mamiya 645 and Fujichome Pro 100 film, with a 210 mm F4 lens.
This is a bad picture, but basically i put the cut piece on top of the uncut one, aligning them on the right edge. Then i cut the right side according to the left. You will end up with scrap fabric from the middle.
This is some documentation of Jessie and I building up our first engine from scratch.
Madness.
I remember forcing Jessie to adjust the valves over-and-over again... and her hating me for it.

近阶段是三日开示一次，将来的某个时空点还会调整至七日开示一次。师父的开示法会会越来越少。
Recently Osifu gives teachings every three other days, and it will be adjusted to every seven other days at some spatiotemporal stage in the future. Osifu’s Teachings Assemblies are getting less and less.
从2008年建网络道场开始讲法以来，已经讲的太多了。
Osifu has been talking too much since the establishment of online ashram in 2008.
师父一直有记笔记的习惯，今年特别繁忙，节奏太快了。以至于都无暇记笔记，昨日略有闲暇准备补一补笔记，一看笔记本已经用完了。
Osifu always has a habit of taking notes. But he is so busy this year and everything is moving so fast that even no time can be used to take notes. Yesterday Osifu had some spare time and decided to make up the diary, but seeing that the notebook had no space for notes at all.
昨天下午买了一个笔记本，从2011年9月1日补起，然后一页两天提前排版好。
Osifu bought a new notebook at yesterday afternoon and typeset in advance by every two days in one page since the date of Sep. 1st, 2011.
师父从9月1日一口气排列下去，写完最后一页，不多不少，排列到2012年12月31号笔记本正好用完。
Starting from the date of Sep. 1st Osifu finished the notebook typesetting in one breath till it arrived at the last page, and it was coincidently used up by the date of Dec. 31st, 2012.
这个笔记本将刚刚好记录到2012年12月31号，真是巧合，呵呵。
无处不巧合呀！
The notebook will take records just right till Dec.31 2011. What a coincidence! There can be a coincidence anywhere!
但大家不要过于担忧恐惧2012会发生什么灾劫或者是世界末日，恐惧是负能量负信息负密码，尔等不要恐惧，不要怖畏，真修行人会遇难呈祥、逢凶化吉的。
But we should not be too much fear if any disasters will happen in 2012 or it may be the end of the world. Fear or worries are the negative energy, negative information and negative secret code. All of you don’t need to worry about the disasters and a real practitioner will always be free from misfortunes and always turns bad luck into good!
是的！真修行人会遇难呈祥、逢凶化吉的。

It drifts and floats down to the earth moistening the mundane land.
Mind light has transformed into endless speeches.
The larger and smaller pearls are falling into a jade plate.

Much sharper picture as above. Since the lash adjuster was not moving in and out well enough it was generating a gap which was the source of the clacking noise under the valve cover.. What I tried to do to clean them was soak them in diesel fuel. Push a nail in the hole to release the ball and squirt the oil out. Then put them in a cup of diesel and pump and purge repeatedly to clear out anything.
