I don't have any "before" pictures, but the dropout adjusters and springs were covered in rust. A standard oxalic acid bath restored them to like-new.
(I really need to discipline myself to take more photos before tearing down bikes for restorations!)
Today's adjustment was just cruel. I figured that with 7 months to my "target date" the orthodontist couldn't pull any new tricks on me. I am a little naive. He changed both wires today. He added some "indentations" to the lower because one rebel tooth is still out of alignment. Then he changed the top wire to one he referred to as an inverted curve wire (or something like that). Sounds fun, huh ? It's painful ! He also sent me off with new, stronger elastics. Oh what fun. I think it's going to be a painkiller kind of night. On the plus side, my Spinning class was canceled, so I don't have to teach. Yay ! And I don't get to be tortured again until January 4th, two days before we leave for NZ. Fourteen hours in a plane with no food is not the way I want to start my vacation, so I hope he'll be kind to me next time.

With the pedals in the as-delivered poition I had to slide the seat forward which made getting in and out even harder than usual. I needed to move the pedals towards me so the seat could go back.
The clutch and brake pedals were easy to move and had sufficient threaded adjustment to put them in the right position. You can see how much they have moved as the stop light switch, which has a fixed mount, is now threaded to its extreme position.
Processed through Topaz Adjust plugin for Photoshop. Hue/Saturation was used to increase the red and yellow. Curve adjustment for contrast.

Craig Mountain Lumber Co. No. 3 is a two-truck Heisler built by the Heisler Locomotive Works in 1917 for the Craig Mountain Lumber Co.
It was built for log trains on the Craig Mountain Lumber Co. until later sold to the Elliot Donnelley at Hill City, SD in 1965.
In 1977, it was Moved to Chicago Heights, IL then 5 years later in 1982, it was Sold to Richard Hinebaugh.
In 2003, it was Donated to the National Railroad Museum, Green Bay, WI where it spent many years hauling the museum train.
Today the engine is at the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad and has returned to service by making its public debut in October 2022.

Adjustable clips hold the canvas boards in place.
This works and is convenient and fast -- however I have been meaning to devise a more elegant solution that would not encroach on the painting area as much. (A big issue with these small paintings).
I need to learn how to use all the newly aquired space I have. 2008 should be a good year for photos, I hope. : )
