We took a quick weekend trip to the Oregon coast, October 2010.
Visited Fort Stevens State Park on a very rainy day.
Wiki -"Fort Stevens was an American military installation that guarded the mouth of the Columbia River in the state of Oregon. Built near the end of the American Civil War, it was named for slain Civil War general and former Washington Territory governor, Isaac Stevens. The fort was an active military reservation from 1863–1947.[1] The fort is listed on the National Register of Historic Places." Was also upgraded and used during the second world war, decommissioned in 1947.

Active Assignment for the week of March 2nd - 9th: The World in B&W
WIT: Another shot taken while pulled over during a pause in my commute to work. The clouds were again pretty spectacular. The sun, as you notice, is just above the frame. I had my hand above the lens to shield the flare away. In post-processing, I converted to black and white with a red filter. Didn't crop; it's debatable whether the dark strip at the bottom should have been cropped out.

So I took a lot of photos from this location in Oshkosh that morning. Other than the awesome fisherman and the little grove images, there was very little that I liked.
I've done a lot of tweaking on this as well, color/crop adjustments. I thought the scene was idyllic but the composition was not complete.
I'm noticing less and less interest on my latest uploads, and I completely agree, so please don't be offended when your dear comments are gone.
Time for the burning of the chaff!

One seems to disregard the fact the she is being photographed, or simply chooses to remove the sand on her face look in a different direction to stand out. However, the three remain to be the focus of the viewer.
