Active Assignment Weekly : Junk.

There is this great shop that sells all sorts of....well, junk, among other things. This was outside, on top of a large cabinet. Unfortunately my time of day wasn't great, so it was really bright. Boosted saturations and tried to correct levels in PS.

Taken for the Active Assignment Group Weekly

Assignment: Go green

This green guy doesn't live in my garden but in the rettilario (reptile house?) in Rome where 98% of animals living there were confiscated to people who imported them illegally from abroad. It's not clear to me why they cannot be taken back.

This (not so) little green guy stands for BIODIVERSITY and is asking us to keep a good eye on it.

Heading home to Ladner from Victoria (on Vancouver Island (Canada)) today, there was enough fog that a lookout was posted at the front of the ferry. I spent the first half of the trip with a 180mm lens capturing the wonderful bleakness/richness of the fog. It is the long weekend, so there were a lot of small craft about, livening up our trip.

Shot for Active Assignment Weekly, September 2012 theme "My local Mountain.

WIT

It will take your imagination. We do not have mountains in The Netherlands. None. Not even a small one. There is, however, a committee of mountain-loving people that are raising funds to build a mountain. It will be around 3000 meters high, in the center of the country. So I took my picture of Amsterdam and blurred the background of office buildings to mimic a mountain ridge.

Can you imagine? Skiing in the Dutch Mountains?

There is already a song about the Dutch Mountains....
