This early morning, I visited Tomoga island in Wakayama where exists the remain of the old fort established during the WW II. This place was used as the ammunition chamber for the cannons.

今日は早朝からハーレーに乗って和歌山にある加太港まで行ってそこから船に乗って友が島にいってまいりました。この島には第2次世界大戦中に日本軍が建設した要塞の跡があることで有名です。ただ、山道をてくてく歩くので覚悟が必要です。

On the second day of the blast, I went down to the pier and the lift bridge. The only word to describe the scene down there is tempest. I had taken a few frames and got well soaked in the process. I took this as I was retreating. You can gauge the height of the water when you see how far up the pylon the waves were reaching.
