This barn swallow snatched a fly in mid-air with incredible precision. These little birds are masters of the sky, darting and diving at high speeds to catch their prey on the wing. Nature’s own stunt flyers—graceful, fast, and always impressive.
It began to rain, not the best of light either, but the dolphins leapt on cue......a fantastic sight to behold.
Some serious acrobatics had to be performed for this shot! Well, at least to my standards :-)

At Cosby's Garden Centre in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Plants for sale and a wonderful woodland garden with pathways and statues.

A White-breasted Nuthatch in the Euer Valley, Nevada Co, California on 17 June 2017. He was foraging on the floor of the forest instead of doing his acrobatics on the side of a tree.
Another of the Red-bellied juveniles was doing acrobatics to get at some bark butter in the backyard area. It was hard to resist getting shots of these, as they are providing some interesting poses.

A Bohemian Waxwing enjoys a few berries on a snowy day at the Beaver Trail in Ottawa. They seem to like the berries just fine. I tried a few myself but I didn't think they were very good. Then I fell out of the tree.

Small bridges made from bamboos are a common sight across Bangladesh. Numerous canals and rivers scour through the flatlands, and building permanent bridges is not an ideal solution due to the everchanging courses of these canals and rivers. Using bamboos is much more economical.
But why use only one thin bamboo? I have no clue at all.

We have several Cooper's hawks in the neighborhood these days, hunting in our yards, screaming from the trees and chasing each other in the air. Not sure if they are all juveniles that recently fledged?
The Cedar Waxwings have been in full invasion mode on our holly trees this month. This one looks as if she is doing a somersault to get to the berries.
A demonstration of creative skill at the dolphin show at Kobe Sea World in Japan.
I posted this photo because I like the artistic formation of the trainers and dolphins; however, I realize it is controversial and there are ethical considerations regarding keeping dolphins in captivity and using dolphins for entertainment.
We have had a few days of showers, one day we had a massive storm with hail almost the size of golf balls and today was a beautiful day, but so windy.
Too windy for photos, so here is one from September.
The swallows have had a good year here. As each brood fledges they move from being fed on a perch to being fed in the air - something that I cannot catch no matter how often I try. There are droves still here. The day before Storm Ali I counted 50 on the power lines all preening. The owner of what was the derelict farm down the lane is beginning to demolish some of sheds this week - I am hoping he leaves some for them to nest in next year!
