The Look Out, completely unfenced, this was a lovely place to walk to from our suite and do a spot of wildlife watching. Saw plenty of Warthogs (close up) and birds.
We stayed at the fabulous Makanyane Safari Lodge located within Madikwe Game Reserve, North West Province, South Africa close to the border with Botswana. The reserve offers the ‘Big 5” in a malaria free environment.
Each suite was spaced out along a long pathway from the main lodge, offering total privacy. The suite was a stand alone 'cottage' comprising a large bedroom with floor to ceiling glass on three sides, furnished with a large, comfortable bed, writing desk and arm chair. The room was thatched with air conditioning and a large fireplace for stays in colder weather. There was ample storage space behind the bed. Off the bedroom was a large bathroom with roll-top bath in front of folding doors which open to the elements and also give access to an outside shower. There was a separate internal shower and separate WC. on the other side of the room was access to a covered stoop with a seating and a couple of sun loungers. The whole suite faced towards the river where the occasional Elephant would appear.
The unfenced lodge has just eight luxurious, secluded suites catering for just 16 guest, so you are assured personal attention from the fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Great game viewing is offered and with the lodge being unfenced you often get really close wildlife encounters.

Out of our 8 days trip, we stayed at Hilton - Embassy Suites (Silicon Valley) for 4 nights/5 days. August 11-15, 2015.
It's a very nice accommodation, and highly recommended if you are travelling with family, or company of more than 4 people. At least an hour drive to San Francisco, if you don't mind driving.
Just like other Hilton Embassy Suites that we stayed at before, the hotel provides great breakfast, and happy hour. Also, the children love the in-door pool, the roomy suite, and of course the breakfast.
The hotel has a convenient business centre. It definitely came in handy, since we lost the power supply plug-in for my laptop, while travelling between Seaside Oregon to Eureka, CA.
We tried to find a replacement while in California, but just couldn't find one. We just waited until we got home to Vancouver, and used the plug-in from our Lexmark scanner.
Lastly, thanks to the management and staff of Hilton Embassy Suites, you definitely made our stay fun for all of us.

The basic bed was a concrete block about 6 feet square with thick foam matress, very comfortable. Loo and shower en suite. Not always fully functional.
The local wildlife could be heard on the roof during the night hours.
