This accommodation centre in Rakiraki used to provide rural women market vendors with a safe place to stay overnight when they came to town to sell their produce at the market. A tree brought down by Tropical Cyclone Winston made the structure unsafe and it has had to be demolished. UN Women is working with local government to provide a temporary solution while the market building and new accommodation are built.
