The most disgusting, terrible, ugly engine on rails leads P97 into town. These things should get torched already. The fact that people actually like these things, and dislike GEs is laughable.
It seems everything is rushing us through life these days; work deadlines, bills to pay, smart devices, takeout, travel, kids sports. There's even conveyors to help us walk faster. Over the past week, I've had a chance to slow down to the routine of a two year old and while busy, there were no deadlines other then bed time, which was non-negotiable. Mornings came early, afternoons were for naps, and evenings ended not long after dark. I had time to play, to discover, and for the absolute joy that being a grandfather brings.
Another six-wheel mini artic conversion, this time inflicted on a Leyland-DAF 400 fitted with a Rover V8. The cab is airbrushed with images of the band Madness and the vehicle has been christened the 'Mad Van'.
Looking back to last week's snow, here's Stagecoach in Lincoln's Enviro 400 19054 splashing its way along Tentercroft Street with a 6 coming from Birchwood... although bizarrely on Bustimes it was tracking as a 9.

Stagecoach seemed like they couldn't make their mind up if they wanted to run services in the snow or not, because they had a few buses out in service on a couple of routes, and then a load sat in the bus station not doing anything. Their website wasn't exactly helpful either, with the only updates being that the 2 was on diversion due to a local Christmas lights switch-on event... even though there were no 2s actually out at the time. Can't divert if they're not running at all!
To be fair, I don't suppose the web updates people work on a Sunday morning. The snow just fell on the wrong day of the week.

But I'm not here to moan at Stagecoach, at least not today, because I really just want to mention the three-pronged shit show Flickr has been over the past week. Already there's been the repeated case of failing to add photos to albums and groups through the uploader... and then it getting confused because by the time it managed to add some, I'd already done it manually.

Then descriptions stopped being editable... you'd edit one and hit 'done', and it'd revert back to what it was previously and lose whatever you'd just typed. It'd finally save on the 2nd or 3rd time of trying.
(huh, they also seem to have fixed this)
And now there's more Activity Stream issues... unless half the people on this site happen to have coincidentally given up over the past few days. I'm fairly sure not all the activity people are posting is appearing in my Flickr homepage activity stream thing, because it's a bit lacking in general, and I damn well know my (and a few others I follow) pictures can't be appearing in some of your activity streams because view and fave counts have taken an absolute nosedive. Actually, it's been like that for a couple of weeks.
If anything, I'm mainly uploading this photo as a test to see if all three of these issues are persisting - hence why it is on its own and not in a batch of around a dozen like I usually upload stuff.
Everyone likes a good snow picture, and my Stagecoach East Mids stuff tends to do well for faves etc, so this photo should be a good indicator as to whether uploads are actually getting seen or not... unless of course the activity stream is fine and you lot are just being ungrateful gits.
This is the messiest description I've written in ages.

This lady was among a few other ladies at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi (Benaras) where they were drying several sarees washed in the Ganges.
She was probably coming from far with a group of people in order to worship in the holy city and therefore she had to take care of the laundry.
She accepted my camera with ease so I tried to make her smile although she kept expressions of a strenuous life…

Right, before I start this was never supposed to look like this. In fact it wasn't suppose to look like anything so here goes!
This Corgi East Lancs Trident was picked up cheaper than cheap from a toyfair. The seller wanted two quid for it, I had £1.72 in shrapnel and a deal was struck. To say it was rough was an understatement. It had been half arsed weathered using gloss black and a yard brush, the rear bumper was broken though intact and the windscreen had fogged, presumably after being reassembled with superglue. I only wanted it for the wheels and engine for the spares box and the body to strip and use as a weathering test bed for the airbrush so nothing else mattered. Once all components were removed and stripped it doesn't leave much to practice with, the glazing being a complete unit. I decided to have a go at First's Olympia livery. If it cocked up then nothing lost. First livery is a pain to apply with tedious masking and lots of foul language being the order of play. Finally finished as 32768 as that was the one I used reference photos of from Flickr and gave it Manchester fleetnames as it will form part of my fleet when my model railway is in present day mode.
Shot this on a recent trip to York with my girlf.
We went to a revolution and they had this just waiting to get shot.

I told him I couldn't wait that long.
I have not shown the reverse side of this note as it is not very complimentary to the President of the most powerful nation on the planet.
