Again, while I wasn't able to document as many places in this WA visit as I have in the past, I did have the opportunity to check out another QFC supermarket.
When I last was in WA, QFC's future was uncertain, with Kroger essentially admitting they were very willing to offload QFC in order to merge with Albertsons. This definitely makes Kroger's future affiliation with QFC questionable. That being said, I understand with ownership with Safeway, Kroger would have access to the stronger traditional supermarket brand and Fred Meyer, which I suppose does make QFC's affiliation with Kroger no longer needed, however, with the merger long in the rearview mirror, it's questionable what Kroger now wants out of QFC.
This specific QFC opened in 1981, and has a very standard QFC format, with much lower ceilings in the perimeter and slightly higher ceilings in the center store aisles. A good chunk of QFC stores were built like this, and really continued to be built like this up until the mid 2000's when the last wave of newer QFC stores that were built (Redmond Ridge QFC which I saw last summer is a good example) were more Kroger-like with warehouse ceilings and a more open layout.
This QFC also got a remodel more recently, receiving the newest version of QFC decor.
The T-Mobile HQ is directly behind this QFC, and can be seen towering above the store, which makes a cool shot. Both the Bartell (closed in 2023 in one of the first round of RA bankruptcy closures) and Petco are now vacant, making me question if the large T-Mobile HQ up the hill could potentially gobble up this shopping center with a rise in vacancies. That being said, this QFC has outlasted a Safeway, Walmart, and now Rite Aid, that have now closed at Factoria Mall across the street, so this QFC does do decent business.
FULVICMAX has a higher fulvic acid content, able to provide plants and soil with higher microbial activity.
And the growth rate will be faster, there will be more water and sugar, and it can also significantly increase the diameter of the sugarcane.

Today we were able to get to a great local aviation museum, recently opened and something M has been so wanting to go to! It was really wonderful, and we had a great time. They had an instant photo booth set up and we were able to get our shot emailed to home. I still edited it though LOL the light was terrible!! (still is!).

When you do find some deer to photograph you will them come across some pissed up Eastern European (10.30 in the morning) chasing them with a can of beer in his hand.
The park is dead! Countless decaying fallen trees, no sign of any life what so ever!
Apart from that it was a great day out!

Richmond Park is the largest Royal Park in London covering an area of 2,500 acres. From its heights there is an uninterrupted view of St Paul's Cathedral, 12 miles away.
Richmond Park has changed little over the centuries and although it is surrounded by human habitation, the varied landscape of hills, woodland gardens and grasslands set among ancient trees abound in wild life.
The royal connections to this park probably go back further than any of the others, beginning with Edward (1272-1307), when the area was known as the Manor of Sheen. The name was changed to Richmond during Henry VII's reign. In 1625 Charles I brought his court to Richmond Palace to escape the plague in London and turned it into a park for red and fallow deer. His decision, in 1637, to enclose the land was not popular with the local residents, but he did allow pedestrians the right of way. To this day the walls remain, although they have been partially rebuilt and reinforced.
In 1847 Pembroke Lodge became the home of the then Prime Minister, Lord John Russell and was later the childhood home of his grandson, Bertrand Russell.
It is now a popular restaurant with glorious views across the Thames Valley.
The Isabella Plantation is a stunning woodland garden which was created after World War II from an existing woodland, and is organically run, resulting in a rich flora and fauna.
Richmond Park has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve.

Our group is available all year round and offer a genuine German Soldier & Officer impression from WW2. Our impression is based from 1942-1945 but can offer an early second world war impression, 1939-41 upon request.

Our aim is to portray the average Wehrmacht (Heer) soldier from the period and all that goes with the solder in the field, from food and rations to letters home etc..
Our member's ages range from 18-65 and all hold Public liability insurance. Uniquely, our group members also include professional actors, who regularly appear in Film, TV and Documentaries.
Last Friday we were able to experience this annual event for the first time. Each April, around seven homes and/or gardens in the Druid Hills Area are opened up for three days by volunteers from the Druid Hills Civic Association. The proceeds benefit historic preservation, park and green space restoration.
Unfortunately, photography was not permitted inside the houses on the tour, so these shots show only the exteriors of the houses and the gardens, along with street scenes and the front gardens and facades of a number of houses that we passed walking from one featured home to the next. We saw many superbly furnished rooms, some with period furniture from the Arts and Crafts Era.

My granddaughter was able to stay with us for a few days over the weekend. She is very mature and grownup for her ten years. I didn't need to do a thing to care for her, she more or less took care of me, lol. She also had fun with some of my Barbies (she brought some of her own, but didn't add them in this scene).
The backdrop is a combination of a cardboard case and the new fashionista doll cases. The furniture is the 1978 Dream House living room set, restyled OOAK by my sister. 💖
I was able to fire off a few decent shots before jetting down to the top of eagle falls to catch color above the lake. I played with this for a while and just liked it better in mono. The t-storms sure looked awesome up there over the last few days. One of the tough things about living in the valley is looking up at the Sierras and knowing that this spectacular place is calling.
Being able to see the wig mesh is a little distracting, but otherwise....
The Nobunaga Matsuri went by my school this afternoon, commemorating the death of Oda Nobunaga in 1582. People dress up in costume to march from Honnoji Temple, playing music as they go.
Was able to get some sauce set up last week. I hope to get more than 4 quarts this fall, but it's been a terrible year for tomatoes in my garden.
On 9 July 2012, West Oxfordshire residents will be able to welcome the Olympic flame in Woodstock and Blenheim and share in the excitement of the Relay and celebrate the achievements of the Torchbearers.
Woodstock and Blenheim are two of over 1,000 villages, towns and cities announced by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) through which the Olympic Flame will be carried by Torchbearers during the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.
Sebastian Coe, Chair of LOCOG said: ‘We are thrilled to confirm that Woodstock and Blenheim will act as host locations for the Olympic Flame, extending an invitation to people in West Oxfordshire to welcome the Olympic Torch Relay during its journey around the UK. This is the UK’s moment to shine and I want to encourage people across West Oxfordshire to start planning how they can be part of this once in a lifetime opportunity and show their support for the inspirational Torchbearers chosen to carry the Olympic Flame as we count down to the start of the Olympic Games.
The 70 day Olympic Torch Relay, will start at Land’s End, Cornwall on the morning of 19 May 2012. On leaving Land’s End, the Olympic Flame will travel an estimated 8,000 miles around the UK giving thousands of communities and individuals their moment to shine as the Olympic Flame comes to a place near them.

This summer, I was able to be a part of the first Maymester in Athens program. My experience studying abroad in Greece and then later traveling around Europe was completely eye-opening and gave me hands down great memories with the new friendships that were made throughout my time in Europe. I was able to not only relax and go to some of the most famous beaches in the islands in Greece (such as Santorini and Mykonos), but also venture out and go hiking in Meteora, Greece which is one of the best well-kept hidden wonders of the country. We were able to hike to the top of the plunging cliffs to pay our respects to the monasteries that were built by Monks hundreds of years ago. Talk about feeling small.

During the Events of Saturday A Marshal Was Tragically Killed in an Accident on the Circuit. My Thoughts and Prayers are with The Family of the Marshal as well as Everyone Involved in the Incident.

Brit Car Endurance Championship/Endurance And Praga Categories (Qualifying)
First Up was the Brit Car Endurance Championship Featuring a whole range of different cars from the Ferrari 488 to the Praga R1T. Thease two Classes of cars ran together during Qualifying so lets see who managed to take Pole Position for the Race on Sunday.
In First Place was (Tim Gray Motorsport and the Pairing of Richard Wells and Alex Kapadia) In their Praga R1T with a Lap Time of 44.675 and a Top Speed of 97.33mph. An Amazing Effort by Richard and Alex to claim Pole Position and start on the Front Row for Tomorrow's Race.

Next Up was the Edmundson Electrical Classics and The Historic Thunder Saloons as they Headed out for their Qualifying Session and with a Vast Grid of Historic Cars Such as Vauxhalls Fords and BMW'S this looks to be Another Spectacular Qualifying Session for the History Books.

The fermentation of agave juice dates to pre-Columbian times. When the Spanish conquerors arrived 400 years ago, they taught distillation techniques to Mexico's Indian people.
Once a backyard brew of dubious origin, mezcal's claim to fame is the cactus worm in the bottom of the bottle.
Now that mezcal has become a government-certified alcoholic beverage with strict standards about what goes into the liquor, distillers have been forced to clean up their act.
Under the new law, mezcal can contain no less than 80 percent agave, making it purer -- and arguably more potent -- than tequila. Although tequila is also made from agave, it can legally be diluted up to 49 percent with sugars and water.
Because Oaxaca is one of Mexico's poorest states, and because it produces 60 percent of Mexico's mezcal, it has a huge stake in mezcal's success abroad.

We're in the All Ireland Junior Cup Final!

Bangor produced an awesome display of power and composure to overcome a strong Clogher Valley side by 9-6 and book their place in this season’s final.
With both sides able to field their full-strength starting fifteens, backed up by an equally proficient seven man bench, this all-Ulster semi-final between two of the top teams within the Qualifying League had caught the attention of many rugby enthusiasts who were anticipating a memorable contest. The playing surface and weather conditions were just about perfect, with what little breeze there was blowing across the pitch and of little advantage to either side.
With hundreds of spectators lining the touchlines, and many more watching from the warmth and comfort of the clubhouse, Bangor’s Jason Morgan got proceedings underway. The home side didn’t want to repeat the early mistakes of last week’s game at CIYMS, and appeared to be focussed from the outset. However, Clogher Valley were obviously mindful of their last visit to Upritchard Park and started with power and purpose. The first couple of set pieces showed why their pack is a force to be reckoned with, pushing Bangor back with worrying ease. Building on this early dominance, Clogher took play into Bangor’s twenty two and mounted several good attacking moves. Bangor’s defence held firm on each occasion, until Clogher decided the only way they were going to come away with some points for these efforts was to take a drop goal, giving them an early lead by 0-3.
Having been under considerable pressure, Bangor started to work their way back into the game and were eventually rewarded with a Mark Widdowson penalty, which levelled the scores at 3-3 after 20 minutes. Further pressure from the home side soon resulted in another Clogher infringement at the breakdown, which resulted in another Widdowson penalty which put Bangor ahead for the first time by 6-3.
Although Clogher still looked dangerous in attack, when Bangor regained possession they quickly turned defence into attack through sensible and accurate positional kicking from Jason Morgan. Having gained good territory, Bangor then fought hard to stay there, even to the point where they managed to charge down two Clogher clearance kicks, although to the visitors’ relief the ball bounced out of play. However, the sustained pressure being exerted through Bangor’s back line eventually led to another penalty, which Widdowson converted to extend the lead to 9-3, which brought the first half to a close.
The first good attacking opportunity of the second half fell to Clogher after just 6 minutes. From a penalty in mid-field, a good kick brought the line-out close to Bangor’s 5 metre line. This is usually the platform from where Clogher are most deadly – their line-out and driving maul is a difficult force to stop. However, Bangor were prepared and not only stopped the drive, but turned the ball over and cleared their lines. Then to drive home the fact, they did it again a few minutes later. Given Clogher’s rightful reputation for their prowess in this area, the defensive response by Bangor’s forwards was truly impressive.
The only worrying time for Bangor came after 14 minutes when captain Jamie Clegg was somewhat harshly yellow-carded for pulling down a maul. From the resulting penalty, Clogher clawed back 3 points, making the score now 9-6.
However, obviously buoyed by their earlier dominance in the forwards, the seven man scrum of Bangor was now pushing the eight man Clogher pack backwards. Psychologically, this was a turning point, as Bangor now assumed control and prevented their opponents from developing any meaningful attacks. This, combined with Morgan’s positional kicking, resulted in Clogher being pinned down for most of the final quarter in their own half. Clogher’s situation became even more difficult when, after 22 minutes, one of their second row forwards was yellow-carded for not rolling away from a tackle.
With both sides finding it hard to break through each other’s defence, Bangor played tactically by simply preventing their opponents to build meaningful attacks through committed and effective defence, and then pushing them back deep into their own territory through long kicks for touch. On at least two occasions, Bangor came close to crossing Clogher’s line through breaks by Curtis Stewart and Davy Charles. They then had an opportunity within the final 5 minutes to extend their lead when Widdowson had another penalty kick from the right of Clogher’s posts. However, a sudden attack of cramp in his run-up resulted in the kick being miss-hit, and the ball drifted wide of the mark. Although disappointed not to have scored, Bangor stuck to their plan, and continued to thwart any chance of a counter attack, finally running down the clock to record a famous victory.
While the final score-line may not suggest it, this was an enthralling game from start to finish, played in good spirit and without any major injuries. For the visitors’ part, they may feel that they didn’t play to their normal high standard. However, they came up against a Bangor side that has proved so far in this competition that it can match and better the best junior sides in Ireland. Bangor’s route to the final has been as difficult as it could be possible – Clonmel (one of the pre-tournament favourites, and Munster champions) in round 1, Enniscorthy (the current cup holders) in the quarter finals, and now Clogher Valley (last year’s beaten finalists, and the current QL1 champions) in the semis. What lies ahead on 31st January 2015 is still unclear, following a 25-25 draw at the other semi-final between CIYMS and Dundalk. What is clear, however, is that Bangor can rightly look forward in confidence to face whoever is to come between them and the title. In the meantime, there are still vital games ahead in the league, resuming with a home fixture against Cooke next weekend.

The graves of 35 members of the crew of the submarine HMS Untamed, lost in an accident on the River Clyde on 30 May 1943. The 36th crew member, Thomas Challoner, is buried in Kilkerran Cemetery, Campbleltown.
The 36th grave in Dunoon Cemetery is that of Petty Officer Ronald J. Gibbon, submarine HMS Osprey, who died 22 May 1942.

On 5th of June, the body of Chief Engine Room Artificer, Thomas Challoner, was found lodged in the Escape Chamber, beneath the Escape Hatch. His body was taken ashore and buried in Kilkerran Cemetery, Campbeltown. The submarine was then taken to Dunoon where all the other crewmen's bodies were recovered and interred in the Dunoon Cemetery.

I did some work on this place many years when I was working. So it was great for me to be able to revisit this beautiful house once again. The last time, the house was being refurbished to get it ready to receive visitors. It is now looked after by the National Trust as it was then when I did the work. Arriving at the timed entry, yes it's better to make a time and date for your visit here because they have so many people turn up some days. We had our membership cards checked and we joined the others who were taking the trip around this house that sits in thousands of acres of landscaped fields and gardens near Wimborne, Dorset. The car park was big enough to hold the already many cars that had turned up to visit on this very hot sunny day in June 2018.
The house was for many years the family seat of the Bankes family who lived nearby at Corfe Castle until its destruction in the English Civil War after its then owners, Sir John Bankes and Dame Mary, had remained loyal to Charles I. The house was built between 1663 and 1665 by Ralph Bankes, son of Sir John Bankes, to a design by the architect Sir Roger Pratt. It is a rectangular building with two main stories, attics and basement, modelled on Chevening in Kent. The gardens and parkland were laid down at the same time, including some of the specimen trees that remain and are so magnificent today. Various additions and alterations were made to the house over the years and the estate remained in the ownership of the Bankes family from the 17th to the late 20th century.
The house was designated as a Grade I listed building in 1958 and the park and gardens are included in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens at Grade II. The house was bequeathed to the National Trust on the death in 1982 of Henry John Ralph Bankes, along with Corfe Castle. The house and gardens are now open to the public. The Kingston Lacy estate originally formed part of a royal estate within the manor of Wimborne. The original house stood to the north of the current house.
It was built in the medieval period and was used as a hunting lodge in connection with the deer park to its northwest. Leased to those who found favour with the monarch, lessees included the de Lacys, Earls of Lincoln, who held it in addition to estates at Shapwick and Blandford Forum. In the 15th century the property was leased to John Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, whose daughter Lady Margaret Beaufort, mother of King Henry VII, was brought up at Kingston Lacy. Some of the rooms are ok but the library is something else. It feels right. Some of the other rooms are just too ordinary for me. But are still worth seeing. The views from the house are beautiful.
Having visited Exbury a few weeks ago I thought these grounds were so much bigger and better laid out. However, Exbury did have the train ride and a large lake but you could not view inside the home. Was it worth going to Kingston Lacy House, for sure yes and anyone should try a get there to see this house in all its splendour that the National Trust has spent time making sure this house is pretty much as it was it the days gone. There is a cafe that serves hot food and drinks and is very reasonable in price. Dogs are allowed in many places on leads, signpost are laid where you cannot take dogs on some of the walking areas.
I've finished all my pieces for Luv-able & Hug-able, but I'm having a hard time getting photos of them since there's precious little light to go about right now.

On April 23, 2021, we had the amazing good fortune to be able to participate in the first ever group tour of this spectacular garden, the stables and gallery, as part of Virginia Garden Week. We had learned of Oak Spring from Monty Don’s 2020 BBC series "American Gardens". The masks and "social distancing" will date the pictures forever as having been taken during the COVID times. As you can see, it was a little crowded, but I've decided that the mostly tastefully dressed people may actually add something rather than detracting from the beauty of the garden.
"For the first time ever, ticket holders had the opportunity to tour the Upperville estate of late billionaire philanthropists Paul Mellon and his wife Rachel “Bunny” Lambert Mellon. From horticulture and the arts to education and equestrian sports, the Mellons have left a lasting legacy.
Located near Washington D.C. in Fauquier County, Upperville is a quaint, equestrian town with a long history of distinguished guests. Prince Phillip, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Princess Diana have all traveled down Upperville’s bucolic country roads to visit the Mellons, as did John and Jackie Kennedy who grew to be their close friends. Garden enthusiasts jumped at the chance to see this famous property, leaving the tour quickly sold out.
After Bunny’s passing in 2014 at the age of 103 (Paul, a financier, art collector, philanthropist and racehorse breeder passed away in 1999), the couple’s astonishing collection of over 19,000 objects sold for a staggering $200+ million at auction with Sotheby’s in 2014. Garden enthusiasts the world over who’ve been wondering what was to become of the famous gardens and home are excited to learn that the Mellons left the property in good hands with their Oak Spring Garden Foundation. The property has been lovingly refurbished in the likeness of its original condition when the Mellons were in residency. Many of the Foundation’s team involved in the renovation and on-going care are long-time staff members who knew the couple well."
