THis photo was taken at the reception of Josh and Kim (Josh is Aaron's older brother and Aaron was best man). It was taken in 1994 - if memory serves me right. As you can see, I was not ready for the photo - I was tryin to straighten Aaron's jacket.
Such is life.
In April of 1993 (aaron was 19), I took Aaron and some of his friends from Church, to the Chicago Art Institute.
Aaron and the man that made him all better- Dr Peter Galpin. Apparently Dr Galpin is the #1 fixer-upper of shark bite victims, Aaron was his 9th. He said that he was almost to the double digits!
But check out that cool wheelchair! I love those rims. Dr Galpin is awesome!

I thought Aaron may have gotten the idea for this taatoo from the quote from Thomas Sydenham (17th Century Physician): "They love without measure those they will soon hate without reason."; but when I asked Aaron he said, "Or ... it could come from the gospel of John ... lol. Two choices in life ... Get hurt and hate everyone that bumps the hurt orlove people regardless of what they do."

Aaron was in Virginia for a few months when he was thinking of moving here from Illinois. While here he helped me paint my house - bright red for my dining room (the great part about being single - I only have to please myself when it comes to decorating).

Aaron was that kid taking apart the mechanical and electrical appliances at five years of age to see how they worked. He never grew out of that core interest - to know how things work. He took an early interest in computer programming, figuring out how to get past security to be able to play games on his dad's computer. He's still that feisty nerd, but at least now he gets paid to do it.

To describe the central motif of his artwork, Aaron Rix uses the word »Technorganics«, meaning the melting of nature and technology.
Pretty unusual for an artist, the Californian is not egocentric at all, but rather sets a high value on good contact to other artists. Exchange is highly valued by him and wholeheartedly he works on connecting people. Only the collaboration of artists in visionary art as a community possesses powerful properties of healing, he states. For that reason he spends most of his time working for the Pod Collective.
Asked for his inspiration, Aaron names »heart and soul« as his main motor. In his works, the 39-year-old tries to avoid using preexisting symbols and drives at creating new visions of the eternal. When it comes to the materials used, his diversified character becomes apparent again: Enjoying drawing as well as painting, photography, graphic design and digital composing, the artist concludes: »Art is so amazing, I want to try it all!«.
