This portrait seems so 'timeless.'

I was talking to Aaron last night at the Chicago Diner while we were waiting to get a table.

The light was perfect and I was suprised that I forgot that I had my camera in my hand.

I popped off a couple of shots while we talked.

It looks like I took this picture a hundred years ago.

Maybe colored it by hand.

Human beings are timeless.

So is the human soul.

We're all on the same journey.

It's always been that way.

We are alive in the moment.

Only the moment.

And the moment is all that we've really got.

Maybe nothing in life is ever perfect.

But imagine if we pursued perfection in each and every moment.

I was all philosophical last night.

Kind of reflective on a lot of things.

Winter is tough on the street.

It's a lot more challenging to get the shots I wanna get.

People are hustling...

engaging is a lot more of a challenge than on a balmy summer evening.

It was a fun night and I made the mistake I always make after a good night's shooting...

I stayed up until the sun came up looking at the shots.

This one I must have edited ten different ways until I accepted that my Nikon saw it perfectly.

So here it is 'SOOC.'

I hope the weekend's been kind and wonderful to you.

I'm still feelin' it.

I hope you're feelin' the love.

When I first saw Aaron’s video on Instagram, I was totally shock about his talent. This gentleman skating at skate field like a pro not with skateboard but wheelchair.

Aaron is born in 1992 with spina bifida. Spina bifida (latin: split spine") is a developmental birth defect caused by the incomplete closure of the embryonic neural tube. But this didn’t stop him from doing what he love. Aaron is an extreme wheelchair athlete who performs tricks adapted from skateboarding and BMX. And he is the founder of WCMX. His story cheer me up and motivates us never

My friend Aaron, Christmas 1992 - I always liked that shirt. If he'd been fat I'd had borrowed it.

Aaron is a good sleeper. I could watch him sleep for hours.

d40-here's a poem i wrote and am very much proud of to represent this photo and myself :)

im trying -

im trying to erase what i cant replace

im trying to put a name to a face

im trying to travel on uncharted land

im trying to achieve success through these stupid demands

i have lost home to the world

i thought i was already independent, mom

i have gone to mingle with the unknown singles

everything feels like a mistake, just like senior prom

i go into head spins like which way is the wind blowing

i control multiple brain waves at a time

figuring out is always better than not knowing

ive realized things are always hidden, keeping us blind

you grow up and become naive

you imagine when you are young

you drift through life, mr. successful business man

tell me, are you interesting enough to stand?

congratulations, mr. i never slipped up

you've gone far with your straight edge ruler

i've gone just as far with my green fallen leaves

mind your own fucking business and ill finally be able to live at ease!

my eyes, like x-ray vision

"this kid acts like he's living life through his own conducted religion"

my emotions, like a delicate flower

"this kid cant win the war on self-destructing depression"

life has become one big collage of scandals

people are always out to get you for unnecessary compensation

step away from this wonderful place, mr. tasteless

you cant be here unless you're on our medication

lets rule him for a day and then we'll get to play

lets watch him crawl and beg under the microscope

lets slap a tax or two to make him feel dark blue

lets speak from our ass' and take chances, like imaginary hope

we've found out slow is better than fast

unfortunately, we are too far forward and advanced

we have already destroyed much from our disappointing results of the past

i often wonder if its worth trying to last

(poem written by aaron varga)

Aaron Altaras (1995) is one of the most promising German actors of his generation. Altaras had his breakthrough as a teenager in the TV film Nicht alle waren Mörder/Not all were murderers (2006), with Nadja Uhl and Hannelore Elsner. As a young adult, he appeared in two interesting films. The first was Die Unsichtbaren/The Invisibles (2017) about four young Jews who learned to hide in plain sight in Berlin during the war. The other is the Swiss romantic drama Mario (2018), about two young football players who get caught up between the politics of the game and the politics of love. His next project is the Mini-series Unorthodox (2020).

Aaron Altarras was born in 1995 in Berlin, Germany. He is the son of director and actress Adriana Altaras and composer Wolfgang Böhmer, and the older brother of actor Leon Altaras. Aaron's maternal grandfather was Jakob Altaras, a Sephardi Jew, from Split, Dalmatia, who was a prominent physician and president of the Jewish community in Giessen. Aaron's maternal grandmother was Thea Altaras, a prominent architect, from Zagreb, who was Ashkenazi Jewish. Both of Aaron's grandparents were Holocaust survivors who fought in the resistance during WWII. Altaras attended the Heinz Galinski elementary school in Berlin. During his education at Heinz-Galinski he was discovered by a casting team. At the age of 9, Aaron played his first major role in the TV feature Mogelpackung Mann (Udo Witte, 2004) with Christoph M. Ohrt. He has since made a number of appearances in TV and screen productions, e.g. Wenn der Vater mit dem Sohne/If the father with the son (Udo Witte, 2005), Allein unter Bauern/Alone among farmers (Udo Witte, a.o., 2006) with Christoph M. Ohrt, and Hoellenritt/Roller Coaster (Martin Busker, 2007).

Aaron Altaras had his breakthrough as a teenager in the TV film Nicht alle waren Moerder/Not all were murderers (Jo Baier, 2006), with Nadja Uhl and Hannelore Elsner. The film tells the story of actor Michael Degen's youth, who as a Jewish boy survived Nazi Germany and later became a well-known actor. Aaron played the lead role. The film won one of Germany's most prestigious TV awards, the Grimme Preis. In 2006 he started to attend the gymnasium Jüdische Oberschule Berlin (Berlin Jewish High School). In the following years, he played guest roles in popular Krimi series like Tatort (2008-2010), Der Usedom-Krimi (2014), Ein starkes Team (2015) and SOKO Stuttgart (2015). As a young adult, he appeared in two interesting films. The first was Die Unsichtbaren/The Invisibles (Claus Räfle, 2017). While Joseph Goebbels infamously declared Berlin "free of Jews" in 1943, 1,700 managed to survive in the Nazi capital through the end of WWII. The Invisibles traces the stories of four young people who learned to hide in plain sight. The other is the Swiss romantic drama Mario (Marcel Gisler, 2018), about two young football players who get caught up between the politics of the game and the politics of love. His next project is the Mini-series Unorthodox (Maria Schrader, 2020), which follows a young woman brought up in an ultra-Orthodox community in Brooklyn's Williamsburg district who strikes out for Berlin, leaving behind an arranged marriage and tight-knit faith community in part to pursue her goal of becoming a classical musician.

A highlight of my recent trip to New York City was the opportunity to spend some time with the exceptional Aaron Edwards; A remarkable person of depth, humor, and talent, as well as being chronically photogenic.

Aaron is a rapper, originally from Nottingham. He was waiting for his phone to be repaired, standing outside a Covent Garden phone shop, smoking a cigarette. I hadn't taken a stranger portrait for a while so Aaron, being friendly, completely up for the project, was the perfect subject to go with.

Moved to a doorway for the background, had Aaron hold the reflector, took 6 shots.
