She's wearing a vintage outfit, with a psychedelic overall, fancy earrings and a long purple silk scarf tied as a headband, knotted at the nape of her neck.

Poush Mela / পৌষ মেলা
An annual fair and festival that takes place in Santiniketan, in Birbhum District in the Indian state of West Bengal, marking the harvest season. Commencing on the 7th day of the month of Poush (around 21/22 December), the fair officially lasts for three days, although vendors may stay up until the month-end. The key characteristic of this fair include live performances of Bengali folk music, notably baul and fakir songs.
Devendranath Tagore, the father of Rabindranath Tagore, accepted the Brahma creed on 21 December 1843 (7th day of Poush 1250; according to the Bengali calendar). Later a Brahma mandir (temple) was established at Santiniketan on 21 December 1891 (7th day of Poush 1298). A small fair was then organised in 1894 in connection with the anniversary of the Brahma mandir. What started as a small homely Poush Mela now attracts attention of not only the people of Birbhum district but visitors from all around Bengal.
A Tufted duck (Aythya fuligula) was enjoying an early morning bath. The whole day wait for a close up was not paid with justice. I only managed it from the distance with the 1.7 TC, sitting by the side of a reservoir for the day. Pics was taken from a reservoir in Birbhum, West Bengal, India.

Five of the seven stacks that still stand at the old blast furnace complex in Ensley, on the southwest edge of Birmingham, Ala.
There are a bunch of smaller stacks that were knocked down and left where they fell, and are now being overtaken by brush.
If you look at historical photos of this sprawling facility, there's dozens of stacks and a pall of pollution hanging overhead. You can imagine the smells and sounds, too. But today it's quietly reverting to nature, and seems relatively clean, not counting whatever is hidden in the soil from a century of steel production.

Took this photo during my short 1 week break back in Hong Kong for my birthday. Big thanks to Euky who volunteered his own time in taking me to this location for the shoot. I was always fascinated by housing estates and the lifestyles which surrounded them even though I have never really lived in one myself. With the government tearing these places down in favour of newer public housing these places are really getting rare too. Hopefully this one lasts till the next time I am home for me to shoot it again. View On White

I have a healthy obsession for how ballet does for one's legs...how stretching does for the quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, Achilles heel...making a dancer's legs very trim and also very fit...and looking their absolute prettiest with a pair of tights on! And there's also the tummy and waistline where stretching and flexing also help in keeping them so trim and helping make all those costumes and leotards look so stunning and slim-fitting! Oh, and I'd prefer doing these stretches when it's chilly outside during the fall...not like wintery cold, but cold so as to offer a nice challenge for the hamstrings, as I find these conditions most conductive for ballet stretching! That said, I love this picture for all these reasons...plus doing them with tights and pointe shoes on! 💖
What do you do when you have holes in your Wellingtons? Stay away from water. But I couldn't resist myself from getting down to the stream in Groudle Glen amidst the colour splash of early Autumn. I came home with soaked socks but happy to nail one shot!
Shot taken with Canon 5DMkII, 17-40 L @17 mm, f/10, exposure-25 sec, used a B+W CPL.

Had a good night this evening at Skateraw and visited this spot which I know is a Cliche, but this is my take on it.
There was a dark cloud bank approaching which made for an interesting bit of sky, luckily I stayed dry despite the distance to my car..
A 2 minute exposure at ISO 200 using a B+W 10 stop filter and A Hitech Reverse grad filter.
many thanks for viewing

"I'm in love with you
And it's crushing my heart
All I want is you
To take me into your arms
When love and death embrace
I love you
And you're crushing my heart
I need you
Please take me into your arms
When love and death embrace"

A dark Sun hangs in the clearing sky over a volcanic planet in this morning sea and skycape. It was taken during this week's total solar eclipse, a dramatic snapshot from along the narrow path of totality in the dark shadow of a New Moon. Earth's Indonesian isle of Ternate, North Maluku lies in the foreground. The sky is still bright near the eastern horizon though, beyond the region's flattened volcanic peaks and outside the Moon's umbral shadow. In fact, near the equator the dark lunar umbra is rushing eastward across Earth's surface at about 1,700 kilometers (1,100 miles) per hour. Shining through the thin clouds, around the Sun's silhouette is the alluring glow of the solar corona, only easily seen during totality. An inspiring sight for eclipse watchers, this solar corona is the tenuous, hot outer atmosphere of the Sun. via NASA ift.tt/1UVhhrg
Just a few mins after the Duchess had gone North i heard this pair of 37's racing down over Docker viaduct and a quick change of position enabled me to get them at a different angle and post my letter.!!

Stele of Ilissos type. The dead youth raises one hand to his head, deeply immersed in mourning his premature death, while a boy stands in front of him. The young man is portrayed naked and leaning against a loutrophoros visible behind him. In ceramic form, this large vessel shape was used in funerary rituals for washing the corpse. During the classical period, this vessel could be carved on a grave relief, or take a monumental form in the round, made in stone, and used as a grave marker.
