I had driving pass so many villages at Faroe Islands. No matter how small the village is, so small that it doesn't even have grocery shop such as the one in this picture. But each village all has its own church, beautiful and unique!

Pat's Travelogue asked me to render his raw file in HDR. This is one difficult task because Pat has one of the best images in HDR on flickr.

He also sent a gift of love assisting me and my family save our home. I'm very honored to do this one for him.

You may now order prints of KK Art. Thank you to everyone who sent their orders and most especially friends and contacts who helped me in so many ways. I will be shipping the first batch of prints ordered last week. Again, my deepest gratitude. I'm rich with true friends.

Another morning photo from Lac Papineau.

A chilly, damp, foggy (more than a bit of mist) December morning in the Peak District. Absolutely loved it, just wish I'd had more time to wander

A fruit I've been enjoying recently, the blood orange. I find it tastier and more perfumed than the normal oranges we are used to. It's juice is an incredible drink.

Looking back down Ennerdale from Great Gable. Pillar is largest fell left of centre and we've still to get back to Buttermere over the hills to the right

A recent view from 'Buckstones Edge' West Yorkshire.

A pose from a fast-paced mini shoot-a-thon that included a few good photos and a lot of blurred images and empty frames. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

While I write this down, I'm thinking about a woman that deserves all my admiration and love, my mother.

Gracias mamá por tu cariño y ejemplo, has sido y sigues siendo fuente de inspiración a través de mi vida...

Also dedicated to all the woman in the world, and specially to my Flickr friends and contacts that have supported me over the years on this International Woman's day, Hugs to all, and every one!

Photography is my passion, and nature photography is my favorite.

I have been in Explore for more that a hundred times, and it is an awesome experience to have your photos showcased in such a special way.

I'm in many groups, and I only add my photos to them if they are not private.

I thank your for coming today, for leaving a comment, and make a favorite of yours this photo, (if that is the case) thanks again!

The best part of this forum is the contacts and friends that I have made over the years, that have the same passion for this art that is called photography!

Martha,

If you are a fan of my work, I would really appreciate it if you would "like" my page on facebook at: Josh Sommers Art. Thank you!

Shot with 2 150ws studio strobes. One at full power, with softbox to subject left. One without softbox to subject right at 75% power. Triggered with Cactus radio triggers.

For this series of shots I tried to use the strobes to light the room and myself, but not the kettle, working on idea of illuminating the objects that surround a reflective object, not the reflective object itself. I also took plenty of time to clean and then polish the kettle... :)

The other day while standing in my kitchen, spaced out, my reflection in the tea kettle caught my eye, and immediately I knew that I would take this picture. But the kettle was pretty dirty and greasy, so first I had to wash it. Well washing it wasn't cutting it, so I busted out some metal polish and hand polished it twice to really get it clean and shiny for the shoot.

The answer to all the questions regarding where is the camera, is that the camera was outside of the kitchen and hidden in the shadows, which made it easy to remove completely in photoshop.

Any lighting tips/tricks/techniques/critiques are welcomed.

A traditional landscape for Dogwood week2 challenge. Not a stunning location, just across from me next to a busy main road. The light wasn't even interesting. I was set up with tripod looking in the opposite direction but then I turned around. Learning points: Don't rush (like I do when walking with friends in more beautiful scenery); use the histogram; move the focus point and use my wide angle lens more. It was a treat.
