An RFC two-seater intercepts a Zeppelin as it crosses the British coastline during WWI.
I have made no attempt at historical accuracy here; I set the whole thing up to display the biplane, which was inspired by Grimthehappycow's Mitsubishi Zero, and Tervlon's gorgeous micro stunt-planes. The zeppelin and the scenery were almost an afterthought.

Aeronauticum, Nordholz (2015) - Germany
Intresting model of the carrier - Graf Zepplin with a compliment of Bf-109's and Ju-87 Stuka's on board.
Would be intresting te see a Bf-109 landing on a carrier with its delicate landing gear design.
The Graf Zeppelin was the lead ship in a class of two aircraft carriers for the German WW-II Kriegsmarine.
In the end it is the only aircraft carrie launched by Germany.
The complement of aircraft would be 42 fighters and dive bombers.
Construction on Graf Zeppelin began on 28 December 1936 in Kiel. Named in honor of Graf (Count) Ferdinand von Zeppelin.
The ship was launched on 8 December 1938, and was 85% complete by the outbreak of World War II in September 1939.
Graf Zeppelin was not completed and was never operational due to shifting construction priorities necessitated by the war.
She remained in the Baltic for the duration of the war.
The ship was scuttled just outside Stettin in March 1945 by the German crew.
The Soviet Union raised the ship in March 1946.
The Graf Zeppelin was ultimately sunk in weapons tests north of Poland 17 months later.

Designed 1927–29 by Rudolf Koch and first cast in 1929 by Gebr. Klingspor. Also known as Kabel verziert (decorated) or Kabel Inline.
With its thick-and-thin lines, Zeppelin is the mother of all accentuated multiline typefaces like Filmsense, Optex or Black Line – with Koch’s Prisma being the progenitor of the evenly weighted branch featuring ITC Neon, Stripes, Pump Triline or Churchward Design Lines.
Just like the manifold phototype revivals Prismania or Bauhaus Prisma/Prisma Graphic – and just like the undecorated Kabel – Zeppelin came with round alternates for a number of caps incl. AEFKMNRVW.
Digital versions include a commercial one by Compugraphic (now Monotype; no designer credited), and a freebie by Dieter Steffmann (2003). Neither is 100% accurate in the details (see ‘a’ or ‘ß’). Both lack the long ‘s’ and the alternates and ligatures available in the metal original. Peter O’Donnell’s Odessa (Letraset, 1988) is an interpretation with the thick and thin reversed, and applied to lettershapes based on Futura rather than Kabel.

Not my usual shot, but the GoodYear 'Zeppelin' flys over Eastbourne at 12.15 today. Never seen it before! Quite pleased actually as this was at the absolute maximum range for my lens and its come out reasonable well.

Thank you !
Can you believe it has been 50 years since the formation of Led Zeppelin.
Hats off to you gentlemen who took the world by storm and gave to us the very best Rock'n & Blues music ever created.
A triumph for those of you who are fans as we at anytime are able to listen or view Led Zeppelin's monumental conquest.
The photo above was taken in 1968 just as the band transformed from The New Yardbirds to Led Zeppelin.
Lower left is John Paul Jones Keyboard and bass guitar virtuoso.
Going right is Robert Plant vocals and harmonica...the very best there is.
Next is The One THE ONLY John Bonham drummer elite.
Then far right is Jimmy Page guitar extraordinaire and also producer of Led Zeppelin.
John Bonham sadly to say left us in 1980...we all miss you John so very much !
More Thanks goes out to manager of Led Zeppelin Peter Grant and to tour manager Richard Cole.
I also would like to say that i was extremely lucky to see Led Zeppelin at the Montreal Forum on February 6th 1975.
I have so many great vivid memories of this concert.
My favorite delight of the night is when they did No Quarter which was truly an amazing experience.
Thank you !

On June 18, 1932, the Graf Zeppelin visited the Waalhaven airport in Rotterdam during a promotional tour. A snap shot!
The Graf Zeppelin was a large zeppelin, used in the early 20th century, named after Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, the developer of the zeppelin, who had died in 1917.
The LZ-127 was built at the Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH yard in Friedrichshafen. The ship was 236.6 meters long, had a diameter of 30.5 meters and a volume of 105 000 m³. When it made its maiden flight on September 18, 1928, it was the largest zeppelin ever built.
After the Hindenburg, LZ-129, crashed in May 1937, belief in the safety of the zeppelins diminished to a minimum and the builders found it difficult to obtain customers. A month after the disaster, the LZ-127 was taken out of service and converted into a museum. The end of the Graf Zeppelin came with the outbreak of World War II. In March 1940 Hermann Göring decided to demolish the remaining zeppelins and use the aluminum in the war industry.
