Taken at the excellent Zeppelin Cafe in Clive, Hawke's Bay.
I had just been to the nearby Waitangi Reserve and thought I'd pop in to the Zeppelin Cafe for a coffee and to transfer my photos onto my iPad for a better look. I like how this one looks particularly in black and white.
Processed in Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro with a quick trip to Photoshop to add the border. I'm not normally a fan of borders but occasionally I feel it enhances the image and helps to give it a more filmic look.
I was tempted to dodge the waitress to lighten her a bit but I like this silhouette effect

My second Zeppelin! Having seen two of them is already quite nice. Interestingly, the owners of this car also have a second 57 S Zeppelin. They're Russian-Chechan entrepreneuers, also involved in the Russian Veyron I've spotted. They're also somehow involved in many cars in Monaco and Ticino, such as SL 65 BS that were spotted here earlier.

This oversized model of the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin was a German passenger-carrying, hydrogen-filled rigid airship which flew from 1928 to 1937. It offered the first commercial transatlantic passenger flight service.

A historic photo that has never been published before.
On the evening of 2 April 1916 two German Zeppelin airships attacked Edinburgh, Scotland. Bombs were dropped over the city and nearby. Thirteen people were killed and twenty-four were injured.
One of the two airships is pictured here flying over the countryside near the city.
This historic picture was taken by one of my relatives and as far as I can tell was taken in the area of Bilston/ Roslin just to the south of the city. A few months after this my Grandfather - who lived locally - went off to war as a medic. He survived, was well-known locally, and lived a long life.
Description: Damage from German Zeppelin attacks to Edwin Place, Porter Street, Hull. Three people were killed and several injured in this 1915 attack on the city.
