Yet another vantage point. This mosque is the most gorgeous I've seen. It's hard to believe that humans have such incredible talents. It was perfection from every angle.
Also known as the E11. Parallel to it there is a raised metro system (see the related rushthrough).
Dubai Marina is an artificial canal development with some 150,000 people living across a panoply of high-rise towers so the E11 is the essential traffic artery.
For more timelapses (and rushthroughs) see the sets on the right - or check out the Middle East collection.

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi is the largest mosque in the U.A.E and the eight largest in the world.
The mosque can accommodate 40,000 worshippers.
The shot was a 55 second exposure, once brought into Aperture I muted the yellows and that's about it........maybe I need to do more???

Sheikh Zayed Mosque is the largest mosque in the country and the eighth largest mosque in the world.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was initiated by the late President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure which unites the cultural diversity of Islamic world, the historical and modern values of architecture and art.[2] His final resting place is located on the grounds beside the same mosque. The mosque was constructed from 1996 to 2007.[3] It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world. The mosque site is equivalent to the size five football[clarification needed] fields approximately.
