Tsuchigumo is a spider yokai. A spider bigger than an ox. A spider that can devour entire towns with ease. As a "ground spider," Tsuchigumo is clearly based on those gigantic wandering spiders we all know and love (in our houses every winter).

Tsuchigumo is also the nickname of a tribe of people who didn't swear allegiance to the emperor, since that's totally the same as being a spider.

Juro isn't human, he is a forest Ghost, a Yokai. he prefers the quit and calmness of the woods. he also is very dangerous for humans...... so ,don't come to close to him.

I have talked about him before. I have brought up the two other Yokai who are almost identical. So I will simply say this: “The Pot-Head Monk” does not mean what you think it means.

The Nuppeppo is a yōkai that is genderless and estimated to be up to 1.5m in height. It is described to have a flabby appearance and its appearance is accompanied by a pungent body odor. It appears as a blob of flesh with a hint of a face in the folds of fat. It is also described as having fingers and toes that are vaguely defined lumps.

The Nuppeppo is passive and unaggressive. The body odor is said to rival that smell of rotting flesh. Other theories claim that the Nuppeppo is actually decaying flesh. There is a rumor that states that those who eat the flesh of a Nuppeppo shall have eternal youth.

The Nuppeppo aimlessly wanders deserted streets of villages, towns and cities, often at night towards the year-end, or graveyards or abandoned temples. It is normally solitary, but there are sightings of them in groups.

"BIG HERO 6" — YOKAI is the masked man behind the terrible tragedy that strikes San Fransokyo, turning Hiro’s world upside down. As a result, Hiro transforms a group of nerds into a team of high-tech crime fighters—“Big Hero 6”—with one mission: Track down Yokai and bring him to justice. ©2014 Disney. All Rights Reserved.

The octopus. Hokusai has a much more famous (and more erotic) octopus illustration.

Sometimes it gives ships impossible demands, but clever people can still escape if they trick it.

Edited National Diet Library of Japan ukiyo-e print of a man looking into a waterfall at the ghost of a woman.

From a series of prints (all dealing with yokai one way or another) called: 和漢百物語, or Wakan Hyaku Monogatari.

Translated (via Google Translate) caption: Brush bottom assistant (the trouble with Google Translate (other than it's not very useful for non-European languages) is that when it actually translates something intelligible, it can't know the context - the main problem is that it just supplies transliterations)

I'm not really an anime fan, but I do like a few series. Yokai Watch is one of the series I like (it's for children, but it's so cute and fun).

And I absolutely love Komasan! I'm obsessed with him, haha~
