"Not Dark Yet"
Shadows are falling, and I've been here all day
It's too hot to sleep, and time is running away
Feel like my soul has, turned into steel
I've still got the scars, that the sun didn't heal
There's not even room enough, to be anywhere
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there
Well, my sense of humanity, has gone down the drain
Behind every beautiful thing, there's been some kind of pain
She wrote me a letter, and she wrote it so kind
She put down in writing, what was in her mind
I just don't see why I should even care
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there
Well, I've been to London, and I've been to gay Paris
I've followed the river, and I got to the sea
I've been down to the bottom, of a world full of lies
I ain't looking for nothing, in anyone's eyes
Sometimes my burden, is more than I can bear
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there
I was born here, and I'll die here, against my will
I know it looks like I'm moving, but I'm standing still
Every nerve in my body, is so naked and numb
I can't even remember what it was, I came here to get away from
Don't even hear a murmur of a prayer
And it's not dark yet, but it's getting there
Every nerve in my body, is so naked and numb
And it's not dark yet, but it's getting there.

Andra Day - Rise Up
You’re broken down and tired
Of living life on a merry-go-round
And you can’t find the fighter
But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains
We gonna walk it out
And move mountains
And I’ll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I’ll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
And I’ll rise up
High like the waves
I’ll rise up
In spite of the ache
I'll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
For you
For you
For you
For you
When the silence isn’t quiet
And it feels like it’s getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we’ll take the world to its feet
And move mountains
Bring it to its feet
And move mountains
And I’ll rise up
I'll rise like the day
I’ll rise up
I'll rise unafraid
I'll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
For you
For you
For you
For you
All we need, all we need is hope
And for that we have each other
And for that we have each other
We will rise
We will rise
We’ll rise, ohh ohhh
We’ll rise
I’ll rise up
Rise like the day
I’ll rise up
In spite of the ache
I will rise a thousands times again
And we’ll rise up
Rise like the waves
We’ll rise up
In spite of the ache
We’ll rise up
And we'll do it a thousands times again
For you ohhhh ohhh ohh ohhh ohh
For you ohhhh ohhh ohh ohhh ohh
For you ohhhh ohhh ohh ohhh ohh.

when I was up in town earlier today, it was all low dark clouds and snowy wind swirling, very claustrophobic -- so extra-thankful for these brighter skies in "my" fjord, despite also some snowshowers and breeze!
Some new work, involving colour film and C41 self development.
As a subdivision of the A process of Reclamation, this short work has really got me intrigued on the concept of Anti monuments, works of human endeavour that are of such a grand scale as to be monumental and yet they are hidden from view and access restricted.
To lament the ecological trauma caused by these works is well noted, but what of recovery, what of a new normal and the future Landscape.
Melting snowpack run-off has not really begun in earnest yet. A lot of water is currently locked up in the snowpack, but it has been too cloudy and cold for it to bring water levels up in the creeks, rivers and reservoirs. In a few weeks these cascades on Chalk Creek will have three or four times as much water as in this photo, and the spot from which I took this photo will be under a roaring torrent.
© Copyright A Pendleton 2011 Yet another shot from my back garden, Im sure you must think I have a huge garden but its only a small'ish one you just need to look closely and keep your eyes open and something will come along :o) Have a great day , ....................... Alan ..
This blossom isn't blooming yet, this is from last year, but I must say I'm looking forward to spring!
Sorry I'm behind, hope to catch up later! Thanks for all the lovely comments and faves on my images over the past week and have a great weekend everyone!
Snowdrops: Theirs is a fragile but hardy celebration... in the very teeth of winter.

So near yet so far, the rain that is, storms on the Darling Downs and yet missed some areas. Here at Mt. Tyson was quite surprised at the urgent need of a downpour. Let's hope the rain storms abounding this weekend give some welcome relief to this corner of the world.
This one was taken at Smithills Hall.
Smithills hall is one of the oldest manor houses in the north west of England, it dates from the 14th Century.
Yet another aptly named species form Latin America! Whether it be birds, butterflies or frogs the majority have very descriptive names which make them easy to remember! This fab butterfly was found at la Paz waterfall gardens.
Cerknica lake
Lake Cerknica (Slovenian Cerkniško jezero) is an intermittent lake. When full, it is the largest lake in the country.
The picture is geotagged.
Convict lake "was named after an incident on September 23, 1871, where a group of convicts escaped from prison in Carson City. A posse, from Benton, led by Deputy Sheriff George Hightower, encountered the convicts near the head of what is now Convict Creek. Posse member Robert Morrison, a Benton merchant and Wells Fargo Agent, was killed in the encounter".
Also:
"In February 1990, Convict Lake was the site of a major drowning. Twelve teenagers and two counselors from a nearby camp were on a holiday outing at Convict Lake. At least four teenagers and both adults fell through the thin ice and into the water. By the time the first rescuer arrived on the scene, only one teenager had been able to pull himself out of the water, but the other teenagers were no longer in sight, having apparently already drowned"

Yet another variant of the phasing in of the second Air Canada color scheme. In this case only the titles changed from black to red.
Kodachrome 64 Archives
A random selection of my photos that I've taken over the last four decades.
Presumably arising from the failure of BB “Tangmere”, 33029 and 33207 provide the power for the outward leg of the Lune Rivers Trust excursion, 1Z55 0844 Carnforth-Carlisle. Apologies for yet another picture at Docker but it’s the go-to location on this stretch of line and the sun seems to have come up trumps here on every occasion when something monstrous has been out recently. What was surprising was that the gallery consisted only of myself, the organist and a tin of spaghetti.
Yet more photographer's crack (sunbeams through fog/mist,) this time taken around the block from my house.
