As Sole just experienced his first Christmas he made sure to burn the candle at both ends.
Nobody owes you an opportunity, a job or a grade. You have to earn it. At the same time, nobody can effectively keep you from succeeding at something that you have put your mind to except your mind itself.

As you are reading this there are thousands of recently graduated incoming freshmen looking forward to their big move to Tallahassee.
Having recently attended my brother’s graduation at my old high school, I once again sat through several speeches talking about how special and unique each and every student was, though this time from the different perspective of the bleachers. We all are, indeed, unique and special snowflakes.
This seems to be the source of some of the criticism our generation has and will probably continue to receive until we are all at the age to complain about the next generation of kids. The big criticism we often hear directed towards our generation is that we have been pampered and given an overly inflated ego that has led to a sense of entitlement. Some of that criticism is what is to be expected as one generation begins to come of age. This is no secret and has been the case since the age of Socrates. A lot of the criticism holds some water however.
It is true that our generation has been pretty pampered. When we were young and played little league both the winners and the losers got the same trophy and teachers were advised not to use red ink when grading to protect our delicate little souls. In general, we were led to believe we could accomplish anything we put our mind to. The thing is though, who is to say we can’t?
Now don’t get me wrong, I hope the overly bubble-wrapped life that is used to describe our generation’s early childhood is corrected as we look to the next generation.
I agree it is important that individuals learn there are some things that they (gasp) may not actually be the best at, and I certainly believe that everyone should learn nobody owes them anything. But, to take this line of thought to the point where one does not believe they can accomplish something before they even try it would be a misusage.
I am a firm believer that over half of the battle when you are trying to accomplish something takes place in your head. If you walk into a challenge in life thinking you are going to fail, or that you are not good enough, then chances are your actions will fulfill those thoughts. Does this mean that if you think you can be the best NBA star to ever walk the court that you will be? Of course not—once again that would be taking this line of thought to an illogical extreme. But what is true, is that someone who is capable of becoming the best NBA star to ever exist will be able to accomplish that goal only if they truly believe it themselves. Believing in yourself is a necessary, though not sufficient, condition.
The truth is, we are not all the best at everything. There are many things we will fail at. If you count yourself out before you even begin to attempt something, then you might as well not even try at all.
It is an often-used cliché, but who is to tell you that you cannot accomplish something? The key to this is to understand you have the power to determine what you will and will not succeed at.
Nobody owes you an opportunity, a job or a grade. You have to earn it.
At the same time, nobody can effectively keep you from succeeding at something that you have put your mind to except your mind itself.

Lyrics:
he doesn't mean a thing to me,
just another pretty face to see,
cos all of the time, not that I'm dying for this,
and I'd never let him next to me,
He's the kind of guy who thinks he's smart,
he's the type that always looks the part,
he's on the make, he's on the take,
and I'd never let him touch my heart,
He didn't mean to catch my eye,
well he's lucky he just walked on by,
If he ever met, a girl like me,
are you kidding?
well I'd tell him that i'd rather die....
he doesn't mean a thing to me,
just another pretty face to see,
cos all of the time, not that I'm dying for this,
and I'd never let him next to me,
He's the kind of guy who thinks he's smart,

Carol Todd & Princess Snowflake youtu.be/IZVl_C020p8
Elise Estrada Wonder Woman youtu.be/EjWWzGouIeU
The Amanda Todd Memorial Service was held at the Red Robinson Theatre in Coquitlam, BC Canada on Nov 18, 2012. The event was a celebration of her life by friends and families of the teenager who committed suicide shortly after making a 9-minute Youtube video using flash cards detailing her tormented existence of being cyber-bullied, blackmailed and emotionally and even physically abused both online and in real-life. Amanda died in October, 2012. She would have been 16 years old on Nov 27, 2012. The video had since then gathered millions of views on Youtube.
The celebration began at 1:30Pm and lasted a little over two hours. While a pastor delivered a sermon, friends of Amanda and a teacher went on stage one after the other (sometimes in a group), each gave a short speech to express their love, sadness and sympathy towards the teenager. Many whipped tears as they spoke. The last two persons to give dedications were also two of the most important people in Amanda’s life, her parents Norm and Carol Todd. Norm and carol had been divorced with Amanda living with her mom up until the time of the teenager’s suicide.
Princess Snowflake was what Amanda liked her mum to call her. Mother didn’t understand why snowflake at first, so she looked up an urban dictionary and found out that what Amanda referred to was the uniqueness of each snowflake that falls from heaven to earth.
In an emotional 18-minute speech, Carol Todd spoke of her life with her daughter, how they have enriched each other. Even the mother admitted she has learned from the daughter who departed way too soon. Carol told of a story about a month before Amanda killed herself. They were walking along a street and Amanda saw a penny on the ground. She flipped the coin over, made a wish and then moved on. When her mother asked her why she didn’t keep the coin, she said someone else might do as she did and the coin would then become a good luck charm. The mother would now take her daughter’s lesson to heart and would do the same when she encounters a coin on the ground.
There were three musical performances by Cole Armour, Michaela Slinger and Singer/Songwriter Elise Estrada who went on stage and sang her single “Wonder Woman” live at the Red Robinson Theatre and dedicated it to Amanda Todd as well.
Carol Todd’s dedication was full of examples like this that were intimate stories of their lives together. There were joy, humor and laughter among her speech as well, but the ex-Mrs. Todd frequently whipped tears from her eyes and professed to have known which type of Kleenex was the softest.
Mr. Todd’s speech was more subdued and he kept his head bowed down most of the time. A day earlier, he had a tattoo done to his left arm with two words ‘Stay Strong’. Amanda was inspired by Demi Lovato, an American pop singer, X-Factor judge and anti-bullying advocate who had a ‘Stay Strong’ tattoo with each word itched on her left and right wrist. Norm and Amanda were supposed to have the tattoo done together, but Norm kept his end of the bargain after his daughter had gone.
After all dedications were over, a Todd family video recording of Amanda belting out a Hillary Duff song 'Someone Watching Over Me' was played on the large overhead projection screen for the audience to see. Amanda had desired to become a popular singer and have the world appreciate her talent, but it was only in death that she became famous. To wrap everything up, a slide-show presentation followed which was composed of a montage of family photos of Amanda, her parents and her brother accompanied by music and as well.
The media was kept at bay and were restricted to two small backroom booths capable of holding about 15 people each. Those shooting photos and videos found themselves too far back to get any more intimate shots. A mid-section row or two reserved for photographers would have been much appreciated in this writer’s view. Members of the press are a well-behaved bunch and do know how to show respect and honor privacy.
The celebration was held inside a show theater that is part of a casino complex, not exactly a church or funeral home. Those in the media who generated awareness and will likely continue to do so for the Amanda Todd legacy should have been given more consideration in making their jobs easier.
After the celebration inside the 1,074 seat theater was over, everyone was invited to an outside tent for coffee, cupcakes and other refreshment. Man-made snowflakes surrounded the tent paid tribute to the one whose cut-short life was celebrated on that day.

Article : Dangers of Social Engineering of the past, present and future worldwide
Author: Olusola David, Ayibiowu
Edition: 34
Year: 15 November, 2019
Published: Online by Creative Arts Solution Foundation
Shortlink: tiny.cc/o2bbgz
This article is intended to serve as a warning to the readers of social engineering in the past, present, and future worldwide.
The word social engineering in the Portuguese language is Engenharia Social while the translation is the practice of tricking a user.
Social Engineering
To explain it better is the use of centralized planning in an attempt to manage social change and regulate the future development and behaviours of a society.
For example, it might seem just clever marketing that one of the longest-running and most popular reality television shows in the world is entitled “Big Brother.” The show’s nod to the novel invokes the kind of benevolent surveillance that “Big Brother” was meant to signify: “We are watching you and we will take care of you.”
But Big Brother, as a reality show, is also an experiment in controlling and modifying behaviour. By asking participants to put their private lives on display, shows such as “Big Brother” encourage self-scrutiny and behaving according to perceived social norms or roles that challenge those perceived norms.
Social engineering in other words
It is an effort to influence the attitude and social behaviours on a large scale in order to produce desired characteristics in a large population by making a reference in the Bible. The clearest example of social engineering in the word of God is the well-known creation myth of the Garden of Eden.
Social engineer means acting in a way to make another person act as you wish, especially through deception or by exploiting another their weaknesses.
6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
The old serpent is playing off of human weaknesses; human beings always want more and always fear death. In short, humans want to be closer to the divine. The serpent promises Eve that there will be no ill consequences from eating the fruit that it is in her benefit. The snake is sating eve’s fears: Eve fears death and the snake, unconcerned with the reality, simply says this is not true. This deception helps Eve to hear the next bit of the pitch — that this will make humans closer to God.
This corruption plays on the human tendency to share — Eve thinks eating the pomegranate or apple or whatever fruit is beneficial — and gives it to Adam.
But Adam and Eve eating the fruit directly disobey God’s direction to not do so.
So the snake is playing of the hopes and fears of humanity. It understands a bit of the nature of humanity and plays off that nature to accomplish a goal. That mirrors our likelihood to ignore what we have been told if we don’t think it is congruent with what we think is is best. Nonetheless, even from this early myth of the Bible, it is clear that ‘social engineering’ has been prevalent across much of humanity, and the idea that we can force outcomes by exploiting knowledge — for the better or worse — encompasses a bit of how we interact with the world and with other people.
What Orwell’s ‘1984’ tells us in a nutshell?
Orwell wrote Nineteen Eighty-four as a warning after years of brooding on the twin menaces of Nazism and Stalinism. Its depiction of a state where daring to think differently is rewarded with torture, where people are monitored every second of the day, and where party propaganda trumps free speech and thought is a sobering reminder of the evils of unaccountable governments.
In the year 1984, however, there was much self-congratulatory coverage in the U.S. that the dystopia of the novel had not been realized. But media studies scholar Mark Miller argued how the famous slogan from the book, “Big Brother Is Watching You” had been turned to “Big Brother is you, watching” television.
In other words, Oceania is governed by the all-controlling Party, which has brainwashed the population into unthinking obedience to its leader, Big Brother. The Party has created a propagandistic language known as Newspeak, which is designed to limit free thought and promote the Party’s doctrines. Its words include doublethink (belief in contradictory ideas simultaneously), which is reflected in the Party’s slogans: “War is peace,” “Freedom is slavery,” and “Ignorance is a strength.” The Party maintains control through the Thought Police and continual surveillance.
The three most important aspects of 1984
The setting of 1984 is a dystopia: an imagined world that is far worse than our own, as opposed to a utopia, which is an ideal place or state. Other dystopian novels include Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, and Orwell's own Animal Farm.
When George Orwell wrote in 1984, the year that gives the book its title was still almost 40 years in the future. Some of the things Orwell imagined that would come to pass were the telescreen, a TV that observes those who are watching it, and a world consisting of three megastates rather than hundreds of countries. In the novel, the country of Eastasia apparently consists of China and its satellite nations; Eurasia is the Soviet Union; and Oceania comprises the United States, the United Kingdom, and their allies.
Another of Orwell's creations for 1984 is Newspeak, a form of English that the book's totalitarian government utilizes to discourage free thinking. Orwell believed that, without a word or words to express an idea, the idea itself was impossible to conceive and retain. Thus Newspeak has eliminated the word "bad," replacing it with the less-harsh "ungood." The author's point was that the government can control us through the words.
BBNaija: Big Brother Naija
A brief description as a popular TV series by Big Brother Nigeria, is the Nigerian reality competition television series, based on the Big Brother television franchise, in which 12 to 21 contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize worth $171,428.57 equivalent to 60,000,000 Nigerian Naira, and other material gifts, at the end of the show by avoiding being evicted from the house by viewers.
But the deeper meaning in ‘Big Brother Naija’ for Nigeria is the looming possibilities in the human society of totalitarianism and an encroaching regimentation of human actions and behaviour as a result of the government's attempt to monitor every dimension of the lives of its citizens through technological innovation. The setting of 1984 is in Great Britain which became the site for the emergence of a superstate. The province is called Oceania. And it is under the totalitarian rule of the Party headed by Big Brother, and assisted by the Thought Police. The function of this police apparatus is to monitor and repress individuality, independence and critical reflection. Through doublespeak and deep propaganda, the Thought Police search for thought crime and put down all rebellion.
Dangers of social engineering relating to BBNaija
Firstly, BBNaija as a bad distraction from the awareness that the Nigerian predicament is more critical than the sanitised atmosphere of the BB house.“Big Brother is Watching You” should be a terrifying outcry that will keep Nigerians ever vigilant about the possibility of losing their democratic gains or being complacent about pushing its boundaries.
The second danger is a crucial issue the BBNaija show raises has to do with the possibility of a moral rebirth for Nigeria. Nigeria is fast becoming a normless society within which negative values have become the order of the day.
Thirdly, the Nigerian society is now a moral battleground in which the government is making effort as to how to morally sanitise the consciousness of Nigerians, especially about corruption, and Nigerians are getting a different moral vibe from popular culture.
The fourth danger of BigBrotherNaija has become a big representation of that moral decline. This is an entertainment show with no moral framework guiding its projection of human relations in virtual reality.
The fifth danger about the BBNiaja shows is beamed live into different homes with no thought for caution. More importantly, the housemates represent different moral dynamics that range from the amoral to the immoral as all the housemates project behavioural dynamics that run counter to what parents teach their children. There is a question that we need to ask ourselves about the danger of social engineering relating to BBNaija and get feedback if possible. The question is: Do we need entertainment that compromises the already fractured societal framework in Nigeria?
At last, the sin of the BBNaija is that it further contributes to the moral decadence of the Nigerian society by projecting attitudes and behaviour that do not enhance social and moral values, as well as national self-understanding. It only keeps throwing up “celebrities” who occupy the deep end of negative mentoring for the Nigerian youths.
The secret behind the Big Brother logo or symbol narrated by Joseph Okechukwu with proof (video)
Watching the 8-minutes video by the Nollywood Actor & songwriter named Joseph Okechukwu popularly known as Kingestjoe on Instagram has been on the internet for quite a while now, the message it brings is still worth sharing and listening to as it did not go too viral because he may not have had too much popularity. The songwriter gave reasons which he backed up with proofs why people should not be watching the Big Brother Naija TV show.
In the video, Joseph Okechukwu first came up with the observation of the kind of symbol used by the Big Brother Naija. In the video, Joseph made it clear that the symbol used by the Big Brother Naija is the evil eye of Horus which is a very deep occult symbol that is even used in the invocation of spirits. Saying that people should forget what any other people tell them about the symbol is a symbol for bad luck or any other thing.
In reference to the “Big Brother” in the BBNaija show he recalled a book written by George Orwell back in 1984 where people kept on arguing: why did the “Big Brother” not show up? Why didn’t we get to see “Big Brother”? Who was he? Where some said he was a spirit, others said he was a human being while others argued he was just a character.
Joseph said that when the Anti-Christ finally manifested in his physical form that he is going to be speaking to human beings telepathically.
Afterward, a short clip of George Orwell was shown where George Orwell said that the Anti-Christ would not speak but his thoughts will be heard telepathically by everybody above the age of 14. He said that in all countries and all languages his voice will be heard by people above 14 years in Slovenia, United States, Russia will all hear in their various languages ranging from English, French, Dutch, etc.
Joseph Okechukwu also said that the Big Brother Naija show is satanic also backing up his point by the book written by George Orwell in 1984 that it was the first place that he mentioned. He also said that everything that was written about Big Brother in that place was really true about it. Apart from which was in the book about someone who is constantly watching you just as the cameras in the Big Brother Naija show are kept monitoring the lives of people.
He said that people may be complaining of their relatives struggling with issues like pornography making reference to the fact that the Big Brother show may be responsible for things like that.
He also said in conclusion that he does not want to run any one’s lives but he’s just given reasons why the Big Brother Show should not be watched again.
Joseph Okechukwu said that we should have endeavour social engineering. He then ended the video by asking Christians to give 1,2,3 to 4 reasons to should be given why they should be watching the Big Brother Naija show, and if you don’t have enough reasons you should stop watching it.

all these waves
are crashing in on me
am I just drifting in an endless sea
the sirens call out to me
enchanting creatures sing soft melodies
am I floating away
underwater whilst I begin to sway
all these lives
are crashing in on me
and everyone I used to be
is it she or she or me
the painted prism from a child's dream
the storybooks they told me differently
the happy ending sailing o'er from me
all these thoughts
are crashing in on me
and does this mean my restless mind will never sleep
I toss and turn just to see
and the sea began to breathe
and I can't make out what it means
am I further from the truth I seek
all these days
are crashing in on me
from one to another
memories
moments of joy and moments of pain
at this moment they're all the same
do these these tears fall from my eyes
are they real or just the rain from the skies
all these waves
