For years Reading and Northern Pacific #425 has been a magnet for people, meaning people coming out in herds every time to see the ol' girl run. The color of the engine might be the eye catcher but for a pacific she is loud!

The Mountain Top Rotary Club excursion is seen in Mountain Top, PA about to cross over Kirby Ave while a family watches on.

Three years ago I ran west to Bergen to stand in this cornfield for a hour waiting on what at the time was just "another K train with ICE/DME/CP EMDs". I was bummed about the high sun and mixed paint jobs.

Title basically says it, but it's been 2 years and like 10 days since I joined flickr, and 4 years to the day that I got back into Lego. I've somehow accumulated about 350 followers with on and off uploading which is pretty good. I've got a lot planned for next year so look forward to that. I've also got a pretty nice scene thats done but waiting for some sunlight to take pics of it, so that should be up soon. Otherwise, thanks everyone, homies are tagged, checkem out.

I just wanted to say thank you for three amazing years. I've made so many new friends and made a ton of memories with people on this site. It means the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Special people are tagged, Looking forward to the future!

The agave Americana was planted by early settlers for a variety of reasons, one being ornamental.

They take many years to flower, 25-30 is not uncommon.

They have the common name, "100 Year Plant".

Recent heavy rains must have triggered the right condtions as quite a number of the 'old' plants have quickly sent out flower sheaths.

Fully grown it will reach around 8-10 metres.

Sure to be a popular perching spot for the raptors in the area.

This weekend the steam locomotive 26.26 has made its first official journey with passengers after its restoration! BDZ organized several Christmas trains to Bankya with this old lady and also on the narrow gauge railway to Velingrad. As always there were a lot of interest for the trains and despite the bad weather, many enthusiats went to ride or just to see the retro locomotives. On the photo steam loco 26.26 is waiting at Bankya station while the modern Siemens train is ready for departure with the noon service towards Sofia. Interesting fact is that there are exactly 100 years difference between those two railway units! Steam locomotive 26.26 of BDZ was made in 1908 and the Siemens Desiro EMU has been assembled in 2008.

In case if you are interested in railway videos, you can watch and listen this old steam locomotive here:

Lake Audy (50.7552, -100.2481), located in Southern Division, Manitoba, Canada spans 477.7 hectares (approximately 1180 acres or 4.8 square kilometers).

Riding Mountain National Park is a national park in Manitoba, Canada. The park is located within Treaty 2 Territory and sits atop the Manitoba Escarpment. Consisting of a protected area of 2,969 km2 (1,146 sq mi), the forested parkland stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding prairie farmland. It was designated a national park because it protects three different ecosystems that converge in the area; grasslands, upland boreal and eastern deciduous forests. It is most easily reached by Highway 10 which passes through the park. The south entrance is at the townsite of Wasagaming, which is the only commercial centre within the park boundaries

The incredible estate where we spent New Years. In the middle of an old redwood grove near Occidental, California.

Dark and cold Winter Surprise.

I hadn't been to Shearwater for 2 years, there used to be uninterrupted forest here.

A re-edit of an image I took 2 years ago today. Since then I feel I have grown as a photographer in many ways including gaining far more skills in post processing.

I have been using @captureonepro for nearly a year now and as I needed to learn how it worked, it almost reset my editing approach. I think I had become too complacent and reliant on presets. I have found many benefits to Capture One Pro which I will put down in a future blog post.

This image was edited in Capture One Pro and the first thing I noticed was the colours. Capture One’s RAW processing appeared to make the colours pop more than before.

Let me know what you think.

As part of the Louders campaign, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Contour CocaCola Bottle I was asked by them to take a photo about it and this what I ended up making. The idea is actually based on an old photo of mine from a couple of years back. The making of video can be found here: musicexperience.cocacola.es/en-una-sola-botella

The wooden church of Urnes is a 12th-century stave church at Ornes, Norway, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is the oldest of its kind in the country, bringing together traces of Celtic art, Viking traditions and Romanesque spatial structures, according to whc.unesco.org/en/list/58.

There have been numerous attempts to interpret the iconography of the church's most remarkable part, the old portal in the northern wall, a carved decoration of interlaced, fighting animals. Some believe it portrays the eternal fight between good and evil. Others – that it shows scenes from Norse mythology, with the intertwined snakes and dragons representing the end of the world according to the Norse legend of Ragnarök.

We knew that the church is a must see on our trip to Norway, and it has definitely exceeded my expectations. It is difficult to convey that with photos, but I had to try.

This is #2 (of 3) where you can appreciate the amazing details of the wooden carvings which have lasted for more than 800 years in a very wet climate of Western Norway.

10 years ago on May 3rd, 2008, I began shooting digital with a Nikon D80. What is likely a MSSPR or MVPPR is seen heading south on the Milwaukee Sub in Des Plaines, IL with an ex-CNW SD40-2 leading the way. May 3, 2008

For the time being I will close my "Thomas" set and end the presentation of myself with a photographic retrospect of 30 years. Thanks a lot to my parents not only for the first years pictures ;-)!

Well, it took me 2 days, but here's our 3rd(?) annual Armstrong Anniversary photo extravaganza. I don't think its anywhere as good as late years (still things I'd improve); but overall its fun and what I wanted -- but its not nearly as good as I hoped it would have been.

ice from the glacier in black sand..fantastic!

You all know by now that one of my passions is photography and when the temperatures drop, the weather gets nasty, I get bored or I am just not compelled, I like to bring the photography indoors. This usually involves Snickers or some other vulnerable creature.

The Snicks is usually a willing participant in all of this but this day he just wasn't in the modeling mood. He had birds to watch and that Christmas tree that was just too much of a temptation. But anyway, here are some of the New Years series fails that I tried to revive. Snicks really didn't mind the attention BTW.

Steve and I are going hiking today so Snicks gets a day off!

We've all got our stories...How could we forget?

Our SPIRIT is STRONGER than EVER. FACT.

Stagecoach 19000 - LX55HGC - route 103 - Romford Station.

Today marks 10 years since the 7/7 attacks, so I went to Romford to snap the replacement for the bus destroyed in Tavistock Square which has always bore 'remembering 7/7' on the side.

52 pillars have also been erected in Hyde Park in memory of the 52 killed in the bombings.

I think our commitment to those who have honourably gone before us is tremendous and long may it continue.

Also, long may our proud way of life continue - we are an open country with equal rights, democracy and a very multicultural society.
