After Canadian National took over the Wisconsin Central, there were a frw years when varied consists were an everyday thing.

Nearing Aptakisic Road in Buffalo Grove, a short CN northbound had a trio of variety.

Trailing Wisconsin Central SD45 7502 was Duluth Winnepeg and Pacific SD40 5908 and a CN grey cinderblock SD40.

The consist was set up from best to worst.

Buona serata

Decided to pay a visit to my unedited photos from years ago. Here we find Amtrak's 353 and 30 meeting each other at Pine at sunset, while a train passes overhead on the former EJ&E.

Kirigaoka, Tokyo, Japan

The udon shop was in operation from 1961 to September 2024.

Between Peach Spring and Yampai is the curved double track Nelson tunnel. It is the only tunnel on the former Santa Fe Transcon in Arizona. This is train Q-LABH a priority intermodal from Los Angeles to Birmingham using the Avard connection with the BN (former Frisco). This was in 1991 well before the Santa Fe/BN merger Power from both roads was typically used. In 1991, we were able to drive across the track in Nelson through a clearly never-closed gate and use former ROW that had been bypassed in 1923 when the tunnel was built to get to tunnel. I've read that the lime plant in Nelson has closed that off in recent years and getting to the tunnel is difficult.

My uncle was in the Navy. I didn't take the photo.

Don't know the full story, or why it's still sitting there after almost 2 years, but here's the local scoop when it happened:

Scotch Argus Butterfly:

Despite its name, the Scotch Argus is not only found in Scotland; it is also found at two sites in the north of England. A freshly emerged Scotch Argus is a sight to behold; the dark brown velvety upper sides making the butterfly appear almost jet black from a distance. The butterfly is unmistakable when seen basking with its wings open, when orange bands containing distinctive spots are revealed. This butterfly lives in well-defined colonies that are often very large.

Like the Mountain Ringlet, the ability of this butterfly to survive cool temperatures means that it was probably one of the first species to recolonise the British Isles after the last ice age, over 10,000 years ago. The English colonies, Arnside Knott and Smardale Gill, are both found in Westmorland. Colonies are much more numerous in Scotland, where this butterfly can be found in most of northern, western and southwest Scotland. This butterfly is absent from the lowlands of central Scotland, many of the western isles (including the Outer Hebrides), Orkney and Shetland.

Not sure why 801228 has been chosen, but it has been embellished to represent 100 years of LNER. On 100s, it's been 100 years since Sheffield United have won a game at Wembley.

801223 plays second fiddle.

Representing the 'old' guard 91124 sits on the far side having run down from Leeds. The 91s were phased out during Covid and replaced by the new Hitachi units, however issues with cracks on the frames have meant a number still survive in service. And long may it continue.

After three years, i finally posed again for this runaway friend .. lol

"A Thousand Years"

They say, "when you know, you know" - and I knew.

Today we celebrate five years of entering into each other's lives. Instantly felt like an alignment, a blessed feeling that comes from deep within. Undoubtedly came in like a tsunami force, we have became inseparable ever since and flows seamlessly.

Thank you for being my rock, my clutch, my everything. Though I have always considered myself a strong person, instead, I have realized through my years with you, that you are the true epitome of strength. I look up to your authentic soul and seeing you evolve into the person that you are now.

Over the years.. we've loved, we've lost, but most importantly, we've grown as individuals and as a couple.

Being a wife looks good on you.

I am ready for this eternal journey with you.

I love you 'til death (and afterlife).

09/28/2022.

Last year and this year are combined as if they are pierced by a pole, according to a Haiku, a short Japanese poem by Kyoshi Takahama (1874-1959).

I love taking pictures of architecture with abstract elements.

On one day while strolling around Shinjuku, I found this office building and couldn't resist taking 43 photos of it.

The main subject of the photo is the illuminated object that looks like a futuristic spaceship or space station.

For me, this photo represents the proof of our tiny but precious daily life amidst the vast universe.

It's an absurd story that no one in the busy downtown district of Tokyo might talk about, but it's what makes me unique.

I enjoy capturing the abstract features of architecture and expanding my imagination through photography.

A Happy New Year to everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to view, comment on, and favourite my photo.

Given human facial hair grows around .4mm per day, this is likely over 8 years of mustache.

In Rajasthan, long mustaches are a symbol of pride, masculinity, and cultural heritage. They represent valor and honor, historically associated with the Rajput warriors who sported them as a sign of their bravery. The fascination with long mustaches continues today, celebrated as part of Rajasthan's vibrant identity. Mustache contests are a popular feature in local fairs and festivals, where men showcase their impressive facial hair. These contests are judged on the length, thickness, and overall grooming of the mustaches.

"Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

As we enter into those Golden years together, we have set goals that we both strive for in retirement. These past two weeks some of those dreams have begun with a short camping trip together in quiet spots where we met very little people. It was wonderful to know we enjoyed each other's company enough to not miss having others around. We shared similar passions and talked about simple plans going forward. It was an amazing time away.

"Hey, I'm back again! After our rainy summer vacation, we wanted to have another special little getaway. Egypt has been on our to-do list for years, so we decided to embark on this adventure. This journey unfolded as an unforgettable experience. After three days in Hurghada, we set off for Luxor. From there, our journey continued on a leisurely boat along the Nile to Aswan. In Aswan, a very special experience awaited us: a ride on a traditional felucca. When the captain handed the steering wheel to my husband, his eyes lit up with joy. Under the radiant sun, we glided gently along the majestic Nile, while the world around us seemed to stand still. The sun sparkled in shimmering reflections on the water's surface as we slowly approached Elephantine Island. Bird calls filled the air, herons, cormorants, and small waterfowl basked in the sun, drying their feathers.

In the background, you can see the Mausoleum of Aga Khan. It's an architectural gem perched on a hill near Aswan. It's the final resting place of Aga Khan III. This mausoleum, often referred to as the 'Taj Mahal of the Middle East,' captivates with its elegant architecture and peaceful location."

I have been nursing a bad back injury that occurred years ago. Once you aggravate it is takes months of physical therapy and exercise to either go away or for it to go back to normal. The last few months of 2021 were painful. Its is the reason why you didn't get much photography from me in the end of 2021... With that being said.

I usually don't go quite with my photography during the off storm season. I'm a sucker for good light. Sunsets & Sunrises... when the light is right. Only reason I was out. Was to get my daughter back to College. Had dropped her off for and was heading back home.

I'm always with camera in hand in case of that special sky moment... I think this was one of them!
