In 1902 the dry dock was being towed from London, England to Durban, SA when it broke free during a storm and washed up along the Garden Route coast. It's pretty much only accessible during low tides, walking about 45 minutes from Glentana.
Two more things I just love
"Rub Here With Dirt" As if I needed a reason to play in my garden.. It's my saving grace these days.
The other page is filled with wonderful beach finds. I am allergic to the sun so on cloudy rainy days is when I go.
I love finding seaglass, shells, driftwood, little toys parts and pieces, wires, all sorts of goodies.
This is the aftermath of a train collision at Bonner a week or so ago. The unit is BNSF #7847, I wonder if it will be rebuilt?

My first attempt at wrecking my journal, inspired by my friend Keri. Her new book comes out in June, and I can't wait!
A note about the wreckage: I'd made a comment to Keri earlier in the day that I was going to put on a pot of coffee just so I could make coffee rings. Serendipity had a better idea, though. I ended up accidentally spilling the remains of my morning cuppa joe on the kitchen counter. "Perfect!" I thought. I grabbed my moleskine and smeared it on the spill.
One of a number of wrecked boats moored at Benfleet close to Benfleet railway station. Taken with a 35mm zoom compact I bought cheaply on eBay.
I think this Boiler, 380ft below Speeton cliffs, may be that of the Hull trawler Diamond.

I think that so far this is my favorite page. The tongue painting portion was done by my five year old cousin. You can't really tell by the picture but the center of the circle is red.
She had a lot of fun and wanted to do it again but we didn't have anymore candy.
32 years on and, other than the memories, this is all that remains of the trawler "Admiral Van Tromp" that ran aground in heavy fog and seas sadly resulting in the loss of 2 lives.
