I got all my present wrapping done today. Yep, that's all of it right there. A present for my mom, my nanny, & my little cousin. I feel really proud of myself since I'm such a badass wrapper. I didn't want to spend more money on bows, ribbons, & gift tags, so I just made my own from the paper. Win.
There's a lot of inactivity happening at our house, but I sewed this snuggle wrap a couple weeks ago for Anne's new babe. It's from Amy Butler's new book (whatever it's called), and was made out of two kinds of flannel I had on hand. It's so soft and sweet, and hopefully usable.
Wraps can make any car, van, or truck into your business's own fleet. You'll be amazed at how many people think you have more than 1 or 2 vehicle wrapped.
This elegant Eni Oken-style 50 mm wrapped stone donut came out so well that I didn’t want to detract from its beauty by putting it on a beaded necklace, so it is strung on 37 inches of simple black silk cord. The cord can be knotted to suit the length you prefer, and then clipped.
I believe the stone is jasper. It is wrapped with 24 and 28 gauge gold colored wire, and includes gold plated beads in the frame. The dangle beads are gold tone metal and cinnabar colored ceramic, and securely wrapped to the frame. The “front” and “back” look equally beautiful, and so this is a truly reversible pendant.

Will it be a shrug, a wrap or something in between? I have woven a shawl, which will be transformed by sewing, knitting or crochet into a shrug-like wrap. Here I am wearing it as as shawl at the Handwerkbeurs, Zwolle, 2009

i like to wrap presents with paper from gifts given to me, magazine and catalog pictures, pieces of fabric and other recycled bits and found things. i never buy wrapping. here's some gifts i wrapped tonite! enjoy.
This is a macro of some bubble wrap. Lit by yellow-gelled speedlight from right and a piece of blue background reflecting up and refracting through some places. I might do one tomorrow for the 365 Challenge group.

This is my FAVORITE image. The waves of fog on the bottom of the image is a gift from the Holga Gods. Due to a light leak thru the lens while advancing the film near a bright light.
One of the best installations this year was this simple field of dangling drinking strings wrapped in drinking straws. It produced really neat buzzing patterns if you walked past it looking through it (see other video) - and nicest of all, there was no "don't touch!" sign anywhere - you really were supposed to just plow through this thing, making it the only installation that was also in some sense an opportunity to play. And, as Jackie points out, it does a whole lot with very little - there's no way this one was one of the $1000+ projects.
