Volleyball cookies all wrapped up (well this is 3 of the 150 of them!).

These were for a local Volleyball team of girls that is flying from here (California) to Florida to play in a pre-Olympic tournament. I was told that it's tradition at this tournament to give a little gift to each girl on the other teams you will play, so that's what these are for.

I got some late night help wrapping all of these from my friend Jeni, who I just got set up on Flickr. Will you go say "hi"

Which wrap would you choose? Honestly the wraps looked a little weird/faded due to the texture. Still very cool and outlandish though.

I made a wrap with VeganEgg, lettuce, and tomato! Very delicious and easy to make!

First time I've had a chance to use my new lace wrap moulds. Lustered with satin white and finished off with handmade sugar orchids.

An '80s Subaru, tangled in military-surplus cammo netting, planted at the International Car Forest of the Last Church in Goldfield, Nevada. Sprayed with molten lava from my Protomachine flashlight. Purple, red and lime. This was in direct moonlight, so I worked very fast (56-second exposure) to lay the light down before it had a chance to completely burn in and overpower my lighting.

Almost a robe

French for “dress” is “robe.”

Is it a dress or a robe? This lightweight wrap dress feels like a summer robe and I expect it to get a lot of wear. #robelife

i was taken by this pre-historic rustic look... and the contrast with the yellow plastic and sidewalk curb (((((;

rustic corn tamales - wrapped and bound in corn-leaves - these tamales were not steamed in water, but cooked over a wood fire. i caught these being sold on the streets of Ajijic village, riding on a trolley. unfortunately i forgot the name of them, actually i have never seen them before -------- and would love to hear from my mexican flickr friends if they know more about these type of tamales. (((:

Tamales:

Tamales are corn (maiz) 'cakes' - made with ground corn-meal, filled and wrapped in corn husks, then steamed or boiled in big pots of water. they can be filled either meaty with chicken or beef, or cheese, chile poblano&cheese, or sweet with pineapple etc.... - a staple food, just like the tortilla here in Mexico, but very laborious to do!!!

This was made for a care package intended for shipping. The panforte was sturdy so I just wrapped it with clingfilm before using a fan/circle fold of patterned tissue paper. The paper seal in the middle was another free gift tag from a Martha Stewart magazine layered with a clear sticker with my initial. A paper seal hides all sins (or imperfections, really)!

This is a piece of metalised bubble wrap tape which I use on my outside tap to keep the frost off during the winter months. Taken just before I removed the tape for the season ahead.

Taken in natural light with my Sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro lens with manual focus set at the 1:1 setting, hand held.

Shot with a 35mm DX lens without a crop on a full frame camera! Love it.

In December 2007 I was wandering back to my car in Golden Gate Park, when I bumped into an awesome couple. We ended up talking for awhile, and eventually I took a few pictures of them.

Fast forward 3+ years, and I find myself shooting Kathyln again in San Francisco. I was really glad to hear from her after so long, and once our schedules both freed up, we headed to my favorite spots in San Francisco.

I tried my best to capture her bubbly and inspirational personality, but the photos are just the beginning of who she really is.

I haven't done portraits in a long time, and I'm glad she gave me the extra push to get back into it. My style has changed a lot since I last did this, but it's a reminder of how much fun it is to get out to SF with your camera, a model, and have a great time.
