I wanted to wish all of my Flickr friends and followers a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy the season and take care. <3 - Chris

This piece of paper has been lining some drawers at my parents' place for as long as I can remember. (Actually, this piece is a small bit that I trimmed off a larger piece which is still lining the drawer.)

twas a month before christmas,

was a whole heap of packing boxes,

and junk to throw out.

These handmade gift tags measure 2" x 2". They are hand stamped on archival papers, hand cut, hole punched, and tied with 6" yarn strings. This classic design is great for any event or occasion.

All of our handmade tags and cards are from one-of-a-kind designs with cleanly finished backs and insides. Each unique style is created by incorporating any number of additions such as: fuzzy fibers, 3-dimensional elements (beads, buttons, hand stamped clay and wax), punched accents, hand painting, sewing, and many other embellishments.

We leave the backs of our tags blank for your convenience so that you may include your own personal message.

Custom orders and personalization are available upon request. Please feel free contact us via email if you would like specific information on any of these options.

We love to incorporate new techniques and materials, making every collection more detailed, unique and modern than the last. See more of our Details and Delights in our Etsy store and thank you for visiting!

Task #54 (December 15th - 21st): Gift paper

I love wrapping gifts!

I have a whole set with my packages!

Most of my own are reusable (by the receiver). I also try to reuse the packages I receive, either for packaging or as material for my handcrafts.

This weekend, AbC is attending two birthday parties. While I wrapped the girls' gifts, AbC decorated the cards and wrote her happy birthday wishes. She enjoyed decorating the outside of each with various drawings related to the theme of each party. Saturday's party involves manicures and pedicures and Sunday's party will be held at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. This all makes for a busy yet festive weekend. I'm so happy knowing she's making friends at her new school.

wrapping paper for Jochen - illustration for Rebecca and Constanze (im_fluss) who love the book, paper by Margret (flickerl)

These are the papers I used as backgrounds for the 365 Days in Colour group during this month of rust and black. It was a hard month to do. Not necessarily because of finding objects that fit the two color choices, but because it was so cold that it was hard to get outside and find objects to photograph. This month's photos were done almost entirely indoors. Here's hoping that March is a little warmer.

made with hand-carved lino-cut stamps.

Chicago Printed String Company dates its origins back to 1898 to a company founded by Aron Weiner outside Prague in what is now the Czech Republic. The business made cotton bands that surrounded hats. Weiner moved to Chicago in 1912 – 1913 and founded Chicago Printed String in 1915. Its business was now advertising tape: cotton yarn imprinted with a company name used for binding, which it called Print-Ad-String. RIBBONETTE featured material comparable to silk and satin ribbons. The company moved to what became 65,000 square feet of space at 2300 W. Logan Blvd. in 1929. By 1960, it was reported the company produced 600 million yards of decorative ribbons and 210,000 reams of wrapping paper. To show its diversification, the company changed its name to CPS Industries in 1965. Shortly thereafter, it moved its production facilities to Tennessee and, two years later, was sold to Papercraft Corporation. Faced with the wrecker’s ball, the building was saved in 2004 and currently houses a fitness center.
