Buenos días y konnichiwa! Ahora, en este momento, el partido entre de Japón y Paraguay ya comenzó!

(I would have greeted in Japanese if I knew more than just a few crumble of words.)

Japan, the least likely entrant into the knock-out round, and Paraguay (also their first) have kicked off almost half-an-hour ago.

Fans are amped and in high anticipation. Japan, like most Asian nations, has brought oddities and goodies to root for their nation's team - along with a larger-than-life nation's flag. They seldom hang their flags or posters off the banisters, as with most nations in these games. These Asian fans would unfurl their gigantic flag, unlike any other size I've seen so far in the Cup, that takes up nearly a quarter of the audience's seats. They'll roll it back up so the fans can view the action. A lot of effort for a brief minute's time.

Japan already wins for team with best hair dos in this morning's match. Fun looking bunch. Which other team has the best hair? Chime in. Or, rather, which team has the best looking jersey?

But, most important, which underdog will go home today?

Sportboulevard Dordrecht, 11 februari 2012.

Easily the most stylish rider during practice at Fort Bill today. No hands on the new drop.

Dear Mr. Ronaldhino;

Your absence was sorely missed during the quarter final against France. I was labroing under the impression that you would perhaps grace the field and teach the French a thing or two, but apparently you had more pressing matters to attend to.

I hope those matters have been resolved to your satisfaction and look forward to seeing you.

P.S. A look-alike imposter sporting a headband with Nike logo and an "R" monogram was loitering on the football pitch. I thought it rather rude that he so engage in self and sponsor promotion. The country colors would have been far more wonderful. But as we saw, the imposter was thoroughly jinxed by that shame of a headband.

Yours truly,

A Fan
